Anna's Bonfire of Horror

I don't preorder games. It's a bad business practice that harms the product and the consumer. Which makes it all the more difficult to admit that silent hill f has left such a strong initial impression.

I preordered silent hill f. To be fair, when I did, I was in an acute state of lack. I had recently finished the PC port of Homecoming and came out in defense of it. And the last time I played a mainline silent hill game for the first time was many, many years ago. I was enamored by Homecoming's effort to author a new story in that world. A new mystery in that old, creepy town. The prospect of a modern and original silent hill story was too tempting to ignore.

Setting my economic mistake aside (don't preorder), I'm enjoying f. The town is immersive. I can get lost in dense residential streets. And my exploration is usually rewarded. I'm intrigued by the story. I don't understand it fully yet, but I'm having fun collecting and organizing the pieces. The action is satisfying. And the enemy design is great.

I look forward to completing it.
