The campaign for this game is incredible. The main character, the amount of lore that is added to the first game, the attention to detail and how NPCs react to different situations. All of these things make this game a masterpiece. Add this on top of incredible amounts of customization for Arthur, his weapons, and his horses and R* has created something that would be incredibly hard to top.

Rare moments in this game which change to how you approach a situation, dialogue that was put in the game that you may never hear if you don't play a certain way, this is what makes this game special.

Example: I was doing a bounty for a man who was a criminal. He was with his wife and kid. This was my second play-through. The man asks if he can speak to his son for a final time and then he will come with me quietly. In my first play-through, I had allowed this and remembered that if you allow him to speak to his son then he will escape off the horse and you will be ambushed on the ride back. In this play-through, I decided that I would shoot his wife in the face before he asked to speak to his son.

This opened up a whole new dialogue. He screamed at me the entire ride back, calling me a woman murderer, a coward, etc. The ambush never came on the way back to town. When I put him in the cell, he told the sheriff that I had killed his wife and that I should be behind bars. Arthur replies, "You know this business, Sheriff, things happen."

Small differences in gameplay that aren't obvious but have been accounted for by R* is what makes this game special.
