I´m gonna be honest I never finished Skyrim. I got caught up in the mods that are available. But I enjoyed the time that I spend In the world and I hope that one day I will return.

I'm ranting about this since ages on the hub, but haven't ever wrote a review about.

My backstory is, that I am fed up with fantasy games since Oblivion.
I played original Oblivion with DLCs on Xbox 360. To the bits.

Skyrim has no real level system.
Health, Magicka and Stamina is no choice for a proper RPG-level system.
Merging Fallout perks into TES was a weird move.
Oblivion had "passive perks" applied at skill level 25, 50, 75 and 100.
Which was quite nice and different to their idea of merging things from different franchises.

Gear does not degrade. There is no repair skill.

There is no athletics or acrobatics skill.
You can sprint, but NOT jump while sprinting. In Oblivion Remaster you can sprint natively and jump too... well according to your Acrobatic skill.

You can swim and dive in Skyrim. DONE.
You can swim and dive in Oblivion. You can use melee weapons and spells on touch or self under water too.

There is no spellmaking in Skyrim.



Creation Engine is also not as gentle for modding as Gamebryo (Oblivion, Fallout 3, New Vegas).
Things can be baked into a save and make it unstable as soon as the mod is removed.


Overall, I've played through it just once.
Played through Dragonborn but lost interest in the other DLCs.
I've heavily modded the game and tried out different mods later on. Which mostly resulted in not playing it seriously, as I doubted the stability.

Anyways, it's a solid fantasy game (with bad RPG-elements).
As of my personal experience I still vote it down. :P

It's a fun game and with mods, you can enhance it. With mods, you can add to the game play, even add quest, armor, stories, and more.
