People Are Getting Hacked

Right now, people have the ability to download files onto your computer through a Source 2013 Multiplayer exploit. This allows them to completely take control of your account, get you VAC banned, and take all of your items. Valve News Network posted a great video on it, that I suggest everyone watch.

At the moment, Valve has said that they have patched this in DOTA 2, Counter Strike: Global Offensive and Team Fortress 2.

I would reccomend putting these games on hold until the bug gets patched, but if you want to play, then play safe. There are a few steps you can do to protect yourself. Follow these steps:

1. Open the game.
2. Open the Developer Console.
3. Type in the following commands:

cl_allowdownload 0
cl_allowupload 0
cl_customsprays 0

Make sure you completely disable custom sprays and such.

Play only on official servers for now, or servers that you can trust. Be safe while you play, and take all the steps necessary to protect your account.
