Take Two is an absolutely terrible publisher. You should have the freedom to study how the program works, and change it so it does your computing as you wish. Take Two is actively fighting against this and I have no intention of supporting that.

This game represents everything I hate about modern games.

When I first installed the game, the first thing I noticed was the ridiculous size. 21 GB. This immediately sent up red flags as another poorly optimised PC port. I was right in that suspicion.

Starting up the game, the first thing I got was of course a prompt to use Uplay instead. This is annoying, but I understand. I played Far Cry 3 after all, and I had fun with what game there was.

When I sorted everything out with my Uplay account and got the game to actually run, what I noticed next was the horrible mouse acceleration. I immediately went to the settings to turn it off, only to notice that it was already set to off, the game is just like that by default.

After a brief googling session, I decided I couldn't be bothered to wait any more and just went along with it as it was. It then gave me an unskippable cutscene with no sound. Apparently, the prerendered cutscenes decided to just not work with audio. They also didn't look very good in the first place.

After that cutscene, I was treated to another unskippable cutscene, this one actually rendered real time. What I noticed then was how incredibly laggy it was. I have a decent computer, nothing spectacular, but okay. Games should not lag this bad. Take a look at Ground Zeroes for an example of a game that both looks and runs significantly better.

Once the cutscene was over, I could finally access the options menu to turn the quality down even more. I set it to medium, but it still ran pretty poorly. I decided to just roll with it and go further. After walking around some in the palace and scavenging some stuff, I finally got down and was treated to another "intense" action cutscene.

Finally able to walk out and finally allowed to actually do something after 20 minutes of doing nothing, I had to run to a vehicle where I was treated to a nice rail-shooting session. Finally something good, I thought. I was mistaken. The final nail in the coffin was aim assist.

This is just straight up unacceptable. I'm glad I didn't buy this game myself, though I feel bad someone had to give money for such a terrible product. Would not recommend to anyone. Do not buy.

Really fun game. Great atmosphere, world that feels good and just generally a good time. Best of the series.

It's a great game. No longer than it needs to be, and just generally very well-designed.

Great game. Pretty unpolished, but all the mods more than make up for that. Also like the damage system.
