a beautiful game, but a dying one. Disappointing grind and stale content.

I’ve been playing Destiny 2 since launch, and it’s hard to admit, but the game has really lost its magic. The gunplay is still top notch there’s no denying that. The shooting feels solid, and the art and world-building still have that Destiny charm. But the state of the game as of late 2025, especially after The Edge of Fate expansion, has left me pretty disillusioned.

The grind is just unbearable now. The loot and progression systems feel outdated and unbalanced. The game seems to recycle content constantly, with very little new or exciting stuff to do. The seasonal model is repetitive, and even with the recent expansions, I don’t feel like I’m getting my money’s worth. The grind has become the focus, and not in a fun way. It’s punishing.

Another big issue is the player base. It’s clear that fewer people are playing, especially on Steam. Queue times are longer, PvP matches feel more empty, and the community vibe just isn’t the same. Destiny 2 used to feel like a vibrant MMO, but now it feels more like a niche game for a hardcore few.

Bungie seems to know they’re in trouble, and they’ve acknowledged the issues. But let’s be real the upcoming Renegades expansion has a lot to prove. I’m still waiting for Destiny 2 to find its footing again, but I don’t have high hopes at this point. I really want this game to thrive, but right now it’s just hanging on by a thread.

TLDR: Still fun to jump in with friends for a quick session, but the lack of meaningful progression and stale content makes it hard to recommend to anyone looking for a living, evolving MMO.

Fun when it works, frustrating when it doesn't.

I’ve been a fan of Dead by Daylight for a long time, but at this point, it feels like the game is stuck between being great and being broken. The core gameplay is still a blast playing as both killer and survivor offers unique thrills, and the rush of escaping or hooking someone is a satisfying feeling. The variety of killers and perks has always been one of the game’s strong points, keeping things fresh, and new chapters (for the most part) bring in some fun additions.

However, there are a lot of issues that have been dragging this game down lately. Balance problems are getting worse killers feel either way too overpowered (looking at you, Nurse and Spirit) or completely useless. Survivors, on the other hand, sometimes have too much of an advantage, making matches feel one-sided. The perk system feels bloated and frustrating, as it can often feel like matches are decided by meta perks, rather than skill or strategy.

Another huge issue is the technical side of things. The game has constant bugs whether it’s server issues, connection problems, or glitches where you get stuck in a wall, it’s becoming more common. For a game with this much of a dedicated fanbase, it’s disappointing that bug fixes often feel secondary to the content updates.

Then there’s the community. While there are a lot of awesome people, the toxicity in the game is real. The matchmaking system often pits brand new players against veterans with hundreds of hours, which can lead to some pretty frustrating experiences. And let’s not even get started on the constant hate towards certain killers (campers, tunneling, etc.).

In short, Dead by Daylight is still a fun game at its core, but it’s a mess in a lot of areas. I’m holding out hope that future updates will address the balance and technical issues, but right now, it feels like a game that’s coasting on past success rather than improving.

TLDR: It’s still fun in short bursts, but the game is plagued with balance problems, bugs, and community issues. I’d recommend it if you’re into asymmetrical horror, but be prepared for a frustrating experience more often than not.
