🕒 Time Played: ~10 hours
🎮 System: 7900 XTX / R7 5800X

HellClock is a ARPG/roguelike that really caught me by surprise. The combat is fun and responsive, with plenty of build variety to keep things interesting. Despite a smaller skill tree, each point feels meaningful — both in the base and ascension trees. The ascension tree especially stands out as build-defining and impactful. Small tree, big decisions. I like that.

Itemization is another strong point — lots of unique items that fundamentally change how your skills behave, combined with RNG modifiers that make loot hunting feel rewarding without being overwhelming.

The maps have a great vibe, and the ticking "clock" mechanic adds an extra layer of pressure and identity to the game. Bosses are a genuine challenge until you start grinding, but the grind itself feels rewarding as you grow stronger and more efficient. It nails that classic roguelike loop of “die, retry, dominate.”

🔧 Cons:
Needs some performance optimization. My 7900 XTX / R7 5800X combo dips below 20 FPS when spamming projectile skills, which shouldn’t really happen in a stylized indie game.

⚖️ Final Thoughts:
HellClock feels like a hidden gem with massive potential. The core gameplay loop is solid, and I’m genuinely excited to see how it evolves with updates. If you like roguelikes or ARPGs and don’t mind a few rough edges, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Early Access Review
mid game overall.

pros:
Good gameplay
varying build options
cheap compared to content amount.

cons:
hard rng based
challenges are a timesink (mainly because rng is bad)
seems like there is no weight to getting specific items so purely random.

Early Access Review
Took me around 12 hours to beat early access release, its fun but also frustrating at times, i feel like its missing a lot of things still that would make progression easier, like accessories with bonuses, also the fact that leveling magic and ranged does not give any bonuses or anything is a big miss for this release, it feels like you are forced to play melee gear since magic is weak around level 3.

All in all, i will give it a thumbs up, its very polished performance wise and i like the overall feeling of the game, its like new world but it doesnt stray away from the Runescape core. Would recommend and i am really looking forward to future expansion on this game.

Do not buy this game yet, give it a month for bug fixes. The first quest is bugged and progression is therefore impossible.

what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is.

Amazing game so far, had to change some of the graphics settings to get rid of the stuttering, but after that it's been a smooth ride and the story is just fantastic.

Refunded the game, the overall experience is definitely not good, the gps function in the game is the worst i've seen so far and the combat is just so klunky even with controller it feels bad, if i were to rate this game i would give it 5/10 only because the story seems really interesting and fun, but i am unable to play this game because it is optimized to badly for gameplay. this is litteraly a bad version of skyrim with a different story to tell, cant even interact with npc's around the world.... so much for good reviews....

Gotta give it to them, they did damn well on the story this time.
A good 4-5 hour gameplay is pretty good considering it isnt alot for a campaign.
Definitely well worth the money spend on the game and i highly
recommend it to those who like shooters and war.
