Our monthly update is arriving Tuesday 19th May, and we're happy with the Runecrafting feedback we received, so it's coming into this update. We'll get into that. We've also got a big chunk of fixes, and of course, more quest content heading your way.

• We've added a new quest: "A Melody Remembered".

  • A mysterious jewellery box lays on an abandoned desk in the Stormtouched Highlands.  There's a riddle printed on the lid, and a strange recess in it.

  • Completion of this quest will reward you with a new piece of equipment. 

• There's a new activity for you - keep your eyes peeled for Statues of Saradomin can be found dotted around the world.

  • Track down the clues and earn a reward that shows your loyalty and faith.

We dove into this initially in the Runecrafting Changes Proposal[dragonwilds.runescape.com], but here's what we've parsed through the discussion and what we've settled on. 

We're lowering the base Rune conversion ratio from 1:10 → 1:5. 

1:10 Conversions will still be available by completing High Attunement difficulty when performing the minigame.

Anima vents will now produce 1:10 output ratios.

Concentrated Anima Vents will offer even bigger bonuses. 

• 100 Runes per standard anima vent, up from 40.

• 300 Runes from a concentrated vent, up from 80.

When you just want runes now and are not fussed about getting maximum XP gains, Auto Crafting will now give the 5:1 ratio of runes, at 25% of the base XP earned. This auto-crafting will yield 10:1 ratio if you have the relevant skill perk (e.g. level 23 for Air Runes).

We've set the respawn time of Rune Essence and their resource yield to scale with over 4 players in a world. 20% more resources with 5 players, and a slightly reduced respawn time with 6 players.

We've brought down teleport costs by half on average. This, combined with the propotionally higher access to Law Runes in the early game makes moving from the same spot everyone builds a house in in Bramblemead Valley to somewhere a bit more ambitious is less punishing to lodestone around from! We also looked at how much carry weight affects the calculation. For example, if you've got 388 carry weight and you want to travel from the very tippy-top northern-most point in Fellhollow, all the way back to the lodestone in the Saradomin Temple, this will now cost 58 Law Runes. Even being several times over the carry limit will now not cost you 1000 Law Runes, you'll be able to shift your stuff with limited cost. 

Attunement should now be visually clearer, with a numerical indicator showing the exact number of runes you'll receive - and the number will tick down to show when you need to fix cracks in the runes! 

Attunement rewards are 33/66/100% bonus runes depending on the difficulty. 

Bonus Rune loss when cracks appear is now consistent across difficulties, so fixing those runes is still a priority, but not devastating if unchecked for a second.

Attunements should take 25% less time than before. Same output, just faster. 

Skill tree perks now increase the yield of autocrafting runes to match the attunement yields. 

• We've added the winning design from our Community Cape Contest - congratulations to SuizzyOwl [www.artstation.com]for the amazing design! Please check out the full list of entries here[dragonwilds.runescape.com]. 

  • The cape will be available at the Crafting Table for all players! Pick up some Ash Logs to unlock the crafting bench and the cape will be available.

• We have now added a toggle setting to "Hide Helmet" for players in the in-game settings menu. This will hide the visual aspect of the Headwear, but you will still be able to benefit from its effects.

• Spades and Nets have had their durability values reconfigured. The time it takes to break tools is now much more in line with expectations. No sudden durability drops! 

• Fishing activities now trigger music as intended. Lovely.

• You can now skip the Jagex logo cutscene upon startup. 

  • We'll judge you though, that dragon looks so cool. 

• Players who unlocked the Farmers Hat prior to a hotfix we deployed can now retroactively gain the recipe by speaking to the Scarecrow.

• Resolved an issue where only one node was damaged by a tool despite damage floaties showing multiple hits.

• Fixed a bug where the Compost Bin would only accept Dwellberries that had already been dried. Juicy.

• The entrance to Dowdun had two torches positioned right on top of each other - thanks to community member arkamos.odc for reporting this!

• Fixed an issue where in-game chat would require "Enter" to be input twice to open the chat after the first use.

• Resolved an issue where Cows, Chickens and Kebbits would still not aggro onto a player once they had been attacked. 

• Fixed an issue with "Cook's Assistant" where exiting dialogue with the Cow after feeding it wheat would consume the wheat without progressing the quest. 

• The "Advert-Inna-Bottle" now correctly specifies that the Arrow Grabba collects "Arrows and Bolts" to accurately define that it works with both.

• Fixed an issue where Trees would not respawn when too close to player constructions due to the larger blocking radius.

• Fixed an issue where the "Return to the Dreaming Stone" and "Defeat the Gatekeeper" quest objectives lacked an objective marker. 

• Fixed an issue where Ghost Mode incorrectly depicted the Stone Range as built, rather than in it's ghostly, unfinished form. Oooh, spooky. 

• Fixed an issue where Fishing Potions did not display correct tooltips. 

• We've updated the Sugar Rush perk's icon and description, you lucky little cooks, you.

• Patched various holes and collision meshes in Dowdun. Gosh, it's like this place is falling into chaos or something...

• Resolved an issue where controller menus within the settings screen could sometimes cause a crash.
