when in fullscreen, game crashes/freezes if I get a message on an IM app. storing settings feels like a 50/50 chance of getting saved, UI/UX is generally horrible due to console catering,

game is offering me randomly named modes and makes me jump through hoops just to get to try out some racing for fun. "f1 world"->"play"-> scroll all the way to the right -> "time trial"->"f1 2025" and nowhere it mentions anything about tyres not wearing down in this mode. maybe there's some setting where you can toggle tyre wear but I'd probably take me a year of sifting through all the garbage in the menus to find it without googling.

Not to mention the menu getting completely disabled while trying to contact some online service which sometimes works, sometimes doesn't forcing you to restart the game again. Everything in the menu is very sluggish. The game itself needs more than a minute to load the menus on a top end PC.
I'm just now going through the menus, entered the mailbox, can't exit it, "back" button does nothing. "delete all mail" doesn't work. I'm alt+f4-ing out of this.

Feels like it's developed by hobbyists, not a professional gaming studio.

The level design made me quit after 10 hours.

I played the other Borderlands installments and I don't remember any of them having instant death areas in the middle of the outdoor maps.

Can't wait to go into some indoor area, those should be less tedious. Nope, it's got vertical levels which you can't see on the 2d minimap.
there's an objective in front of you. GOTCHA, you actually have to go around another level above/below you to get to it.

Shoot this thing in front of you! GOTCHA, bulletproof glass. Oh, you didn't think to jump to see there's no trasnparent glass panels above it and you could actually shoot it there. EHEHE GOTCHA AGAIN.

I want to shoot and loot, not play 3d platformers and the floor is lava.

Great game, but they're breaking and fixing new stuff every patch.
There's still sometimes weird interactions with npcs magically reappearing, reviving and whatnot. A bit immersion breaking sometimes but nothing gamebreaking.

I've played for around 400 hours now. Still finding new ways to replay the game.
Currently murdering every living being I encounter. Sadly some children have immunity to conventional death. Luckily some of them you can toss into the water or chasms but still, it would be nice to be able to kill everything and everyone in this playthrough.
I still get some weird issues like some of the npcs remaining neutral after being hit in their face and then just running away even if it's not their turn in the turn based mode. Completely ignoring our encounter.
Character corpses dying again after walking back to the scene. Basically they look like they're still alive and then drop dead as you come near.

Larian's touch to the existing 5e ruleset is a refreshing one. Having the option to shove and toss enemies around is definitely a most fun way to handle combat situations. The 12 level cap is a bit disappointing considering the epicness of some of the characters from the previous installments that you meet in this game.

The story is good and the playable characters while lacking in numbers (compared to older bg games) more than make it up quality wise. There are a lot of funny moments in the game. There's cheesy romance stuff, cringe romance stuff and kinky romance stuff.
While it's a good thing the game lets you walk around naked, it's missing any reactions from NPCs regarding you embracing the freikorperkultur lifestyle which I guess is not weird in this world even though everyone else wears clothes.

The game lets you respec your characters at camp, level up companions as you see fit. Respec them as well for a small gold fee or for free if you're sneaky enough. It's a shame only that you cannot make a whole party of custom characters but are limited to the story companions and a handful of pregenerated "mercenary" characters instead.

There are a lot of magical items options with synergies which make you want to play the game more to try out and see which builds are more fun or overpowered compared to others. This makes some builds ridiculously overpowered, but it doesn't really matter as the game is sp/co-op anyway.

The game will be better once they handle some of the existing issues, but that doesn't mean it's not already the best game of this year. I'd recommend it to any RPG players.

Early Access Review
fun coop survival game
I like how advancement is dependant on crafting.
Would recommend playing with at least a couple of friends

Great game, very comfy and relaxing to play. Best played covered in blankets on an armchair for maximum comfort.
It has some nice scenery, sadly the towns are a bit small but you can't have everything.
