Resident Evil Requiem IMO is my personal GOTY. The newest entry in the series has been such a great experience in and out on all of my playthroughs and all the hours I've put into it already. Requiem brings all the best out of every title that has been released in the past, such as in the beginning where its mainly focusing on Grace's POV of the main story and has the RE7 horror aspect where it always keeps you on the edge of your seat. Later as the game progresses we get to play more and more Leon and he's bringing that RE4 aspect where its very combat heavy. Side note real quick I will say is that this is the best version of Leon that we will ever see in this series. Leon being 50+ years old and has been fighting bio terrorism for pretty much 3/4 of his life and has no more time for BS anymore and just goes full One Man Army against everything he fights, and I don't think we will ever get a more complete and more refined version that what we have gotten in Requiem. And of course we get his 10/10 one liners, which is the cherry on top for his character and it cements his legacy as one of the best characters in video game history. Back to the game though, its split pretty much evenly between Leon and Grace with Grace being in the first half and Leon in the 2nd half, and both settings work so well for each character, with each area you end up during the game doesn't feel like its dragging out at all. This is probably my top Resident Evil game I have ever put time into and it's lived up to the hype and more and all the production and voice actors and passion put into this game has been so well delivered and Capcom has delivered another FANTASTIC game and knows how to create a unique atmosphere for Resident Evil and Requiem is no exception. The nostalgia hits very hard while also bringing the more recent titles ideas and integrates it beautifully. 10/10 title and very HIGHLY recommend you play :))

The gold standard for any Resident Evil Remake going forward. This game does a great job with adding new content and staying true to the original. I know they replaced the original vibe of the game with going in a more serious tone but in all honestly I think it makes the game that much more realistic with Leon having just gone thru everything in Raccoon City in RE2 in a short span now having working for the US government and having to rescue the president's daughter. The story and pre-rendered cut scenes definitely make Leon and Ashley's relationship throughout the game so much more better in the remake. I also love how they added more lore to Luis and actually making him more of an presence in this game. The combat gameplay is also the best (imo) in any Resident Evil game considering there's multiple ways you can approach and deal with enemies. And of course the OST, which is beautifully catered to both newer and older players of the franchise, with separate ways being a prime example. When you go to the merchant on Ada's side of the story and you hear it while trying to figure what to buy, prime nostalgia right there *chef's kiss. Separate Ways again is fan service done beautifully, showing the main story's POV on Ada's side. I personally don't think I have ever replayed a DLC so much as this one, with how greatly put together and amount of replayability it has within it. The changes they did with chapter select screen and the merchant OST as well perfectly captures Ada's feelings as she progresses throughout the game. I could go on and on about it but it'd definitely a DLC one should play to get the best experience and feel of it. Trust me its worth playing 1000%. Overall Resident Evil 4 remake is how you cater to both the older and newer playerbase with staying true to the original and adding newer content/lore to make the game feel very new. 10/10. Well done Capcom :)
