[EVENTS] Sky Tower Awards

It is about that time of year where I start preparing for the Sky Tower awards, so here I go. But first, here is a neat little story.

The Sky Tower server was created on 4 February 2017. It was originally a side-server based on a server (now defunct) I used to own in 2016 through mid 2017. For about half a year, the side-server was almost entirely NSFW, small and kinda dead, and known as "The Oasis of Hopes and Dreams".

Then it was changed left and right, becoming more and more friendly to the pure, and then it was known officially as "The Oasis" for a year.

After that, I decided I wanted a better theme, and so I asked users in the server for suggestions. Many of them were Pokemon-related, so I settled with something related to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. Sky Tower, a dungeon from PMD: Red/Blue Rescue Team, was the answer, so since then, that has been our theme - and that probably will not change anytime soon.

The first award ceremony we had, held on 4 February 2018, was called the Aquatic Awards, back when the server was called The Oasis. The following award ceremony, on 4 February 2019, was called the Sky Tower Awards.

Both of those ceremonies have occurred on the 4th of February - the server's birthday. 2020 will be no different, and I hope it will be our biggest ceremony yet.

But that cannot be accomplished without you. That is why I am asking everyone to give me suggestions for categories we can nominate users under.

So far, we have the categories we had used in both ceremonies:

• Official Memelord of 20XX (the year the ceremony is hosted)
  
• Worst Attendance (someone who has shown activity, but not recently)

• Best Friend (not exactly your best friend, but rather someone who you believe has been the greatest friend in the server)
  
• Best Staff Member (this one has been different in 2018 and 2019; this year it will be one for admins and one for mods)

• Most Mature User
  
• Most Helpful User

(And we also had two other awards those two years, Best Kinkshamer and Best Roleplayer, but this year we will not include either one.)

I would love to see what cool categories you all can come up with!

Like the 2018 and 2019 awards, this one will have not one, but two polls.

The first poll, usually ready in December, will have you type out the user(s) you wish to vote for. Unless it is for Best/Worst Bot, you may not vote for bots. All votes must be serious, and any meme votes will not be counted (unless they actually give me a user). Of course, to keep things fair, you are not allowed to vote for yourself.

The second poll, usually ready in January, will have you vote from one of three or four options in the form of multiple choice. These options are the most-voted results from the first poll. Again, you cannot vote for yourself.

In 2018 and 2019, everyone was allowed to vote for me, as I also counted as a user in the server. In the 2020 STAs, due to high demand and me snagging too many awards (five in 2018 and six in 2019), I will no longer be an option for voting. However, I will still be allowed to submit my own votes as if I were a regular user rather than the awards' hostess.
