What about us having our own reg server?

My dear Cockwombles,
What do you think about having our own reg server for our own use? I've been looking at options. We could start by renting a 20-slot server for £6 ($8.63) a month, or a 30-slot server for £8 a month.
Please comment below with your thoughts, or if you know anything more about server hosting.
