A beautiful little platformer game saturated with passion. You can very much see the inspiration that this game draws from. It has the speedy level design you might find in some of the classic Sonic games, but with the movement mechanics heavily inspired by the game Celeste. There's also some nods to the soulsborne genre, but don't worry, the bosses won't make you want to break your controller ;)

Overall, the game definitely feels like a speedrunning game made by a speedrunner. The feeling of going though the level quickly is satisfying and rewarding when you navigate through difficult areas. A word of caution though: don't expect to breeze through the levels without challenge. This is a game that rewards memorizing and mastering levels through replaying them, so don't feel bad by zooming past the keys (3 collectibles per level) until you have a better grasp of the level layout to try again.

In addition, I don't want to gloss over the story in this game. I don't find many game's stories to be able to make me tear up, but this one certainly did. It's subtle, but you can definitely tell that the creators intention was not to make money from creating this, but to express and create a beautiful story through this medium of art. A $4 game off steam has no right to have a story that touching XD. I am glad to have played it, and I hope you'll enjoy it too!

Love it? Hate it? It's all a matter of perspective, my dear.

Man has this game come far! I remember first starting up the game, and, unlike the majority of the playerbase back then, I really did enjoy the game as it was. I will admit that I too got caught up in the hype, but as the pang of reality sank it, I was able to enjoy it for what it was.

that was nearly 5 years ago, and let me just say, things have gone above and beyond. Freighters, base building, npc missions, compelling storyline, multiplayer, completely overhauled world generation, volumetric clouds, planetary rings, VR, animal riding, multiple terrain vehicles, character customization, community missions, organic ships, space encounters, fleet missions, co-op missions, the list seems almost endless, and hello games seems to have little intentions to slow down!

Now, when playing NMS do I get the same feeling as watching the old E3 trailers? No, and to be perfectly honest, I don't think anyone ever does when it comes to E3 trailers. But, as I land on a distant planet, hopping out into a brave new alien world, I certainly can feel a rekindling of that spirit as I watch the sun slowly dip below a colorful sea, cheered on by the distant alien cries of procedurally generated animals.

A really great software to use, and plus it is free! At first it seems very complicated, but with the right practice and knowlege you can make some pretty awesome stuff with it,
