To keep this short and sweet, This is probably one of the best action RPGs I've played in a long time! And what makes it more satisfying for me is that I not long came off a binge of Devil May Cry, so this game scratches that itch for stylish combat too!

If you played/enjoyed Radical Fish's previous game, CrossCode, then you'll find that Alabaster only further improves on the ground work layed by CrossCode. The biggest thing of note is that the level design has depth and isn't just a flat screen, allowing for platforming to be so much easier and smoother. The other big improvement from CrossCode is the combat, as I mentioned earilier. Not only do you unlock combos that require good button timing (DMC fans will find this very familiar), but there are now different weapons with their own unique combos and fighting styles.

The main downside I'm sure everyone has already mentioned is that this game is currently in Early Access, because I'm itching to play more! I know Early Access can be a turn off for some people, but given the developer's track record, I strongly believe they will continue to update this game throughout the year. Though without a road map of some kind, it's hard to know exactly how much game there is left to complete. On the plus side, the surprise Rouge-Lite game mode you get right at the end of the playable segments was quite pleasent and will help add replayablility to this game, something that I rarely see achieved in RPGs in general.

Definitley worth checking out, but I can understand if people choose to hold off until the game is fully complete.
