An amazing sandbox game, with a rich community, and enough add-ons to last aeons, albeit with varying quality. It first released back in 2006, and ever since then it's been going strong. If you like Half-Life 2's physics, gunplay, ambience, and feel, but want to do 'your own thing' and use your creativity to the fullest rather than follow a linear footpath --- this game is for you.
The game in single-player is fun, but in multiplayer it really does add a 'kick' to it. The chaos caused by you and your buddies is bound to make you content.

'Revolutionary' and 'award-winning', are all quite valid titles for such a game. Don't let the outdated graphics fool you; this is quite a treat to go through, and the gameplay is still stellar even after so many years.

While not 'having the charm' that the Source engine offers, the atmosphere and map design are genuinely so thought out. The puzzles are fun, the gunplay is fantastic, and the enemies are still quite smart to this day.

The game's original tagline; 'Run - Think - Shoot - Live' is a great description of how to survive. You're a scientist, not a marine or a soldier. Use your smarts to overpower their brawn; use grenades as distractions to scatter them or lure them out of a place, shoot only when they're distracted, et cetera. Great game.

Despite being an admittedly short experience, this Half-Life 2 mod is quite enjoyable, and i'd definitely recommend it if you're just trying to kill the time waiting for something, procrastinating, or otherwise. It captures the feel of old 1940s noir movies quite well, and I liked the plot of the combine going back in time, although I really did not understand why they did that. The little comicbook-like cutscenes while loading in the segments is a nice addition, as in the regular Half-Life games you're essentially just staring into a paused screen. The gunplay is essentially just Half-Life 2's but tweaked a bit, and feels nice. I do expect with open arms the next entry, Sepia. 9/10.

It is one of the best Fallout games, and a part of one of the most well written games in general. It's a must-have experience, with good both gunplay and gameplay. It is extremely fun, not just on the first playthrough; but also the second, third, or whichever. The game has so much content you probably have missed in the first run, you can squeeze out many hours of gameplay spanned over multiple runs. However, due to it's age and other reasons, the game is riddled with bugs and requires optimization mods to play without it crashing every 30 minutes or so. You have to get down on your knees for it to not crash every time you enter a building, or just fast travel.

The DLCs, while purely optional, are a must-have, and I'd highly recommend buying the Ultimate edition over the regular edition, if possible.

Half-Life Two, despite being set in a city, actually feels smaller than Half-Life one, which takes place in a facility in New Mexico.
Despite the game mostly focusing on the physics and desperately showing them off throughout the whole game (which is fair, back then it was shocking) it actually still holds up and is quite a fun experience. Definitely recommend playing Half-Life first though.

Early Access Review
Do not let the isometric camera and the graphics fool you; this game is realistic to a fault. Well, almost to a fault.

It allows you to basically do anything you can do in real life, at the cost of being as weak as you are in real life. Everything that can go wrong, will go wrong, and at the worst possible moment.

A great advice I can give is NEVER get overconfident. Always stay alert, and sleep with one eye open.
