A simple and relaxing game with engaging puzzles, graphically pleasing, with a dark atmosphere and immersive sound effects. It's not only a video game, it's a piece of art with black and white elements.

By far the best video game I have ever played. It is astounding how big and detailed the game is. Loved every single bit of it, from the small stories to the big ones, some funny, some fascinating, some touching: it's a game that exudes emotions. The beautiful sceneries and soothing background music makes it pleasant just to walk around or have a ride aimlessly with your horse. I finished it in the second half of 2023 so I got the chance to play it with the Next-Gen Update which introduced ray-tracing to the game graphics and made the game even more spectacular. Both the expansions, "Blood and Wine" and "Hearts of Stone", are absolutely a must.

I had to force myself to play this game through, all the friends recommendations and awards this game won I thought there must be something good about this game I was not seeing. The more I played the more I disliked it: the bland main character, her unnatural movement which makes her look like she is sliding on the ground, the cumbersome and convoluted user interface (I still did not figure out how to add abilities nor how to upgrade my weapons), the huge number of useless documents that you can ignore and still complete the game, the random annoying encounters with enemies which you must defeat by boringly and repeatedly shooting and throwing stuff at them, the meaningless interludes jabbering nonsense words like "resonance" which serve only to confuse the player, the maze labyrinthine map that forces you to move back and forth for tens of minutes to find the point of interest of the current mission (it was easier just to let yourself die by enemies to respawn at a control point). The worst thing was probably the story: boring, completely meaningless.

Real-time dungeon crawler is my favorite gaming genre, probably because "Eye of the Beholder" was the first game I played on PC when I was a kid. Legend of Grimrock 2 definitely brings those memories back. It is a nice looking game, with a nice story and stimulating puzzles. I loved playing this game and played it almost every day until I finished. Same goes for the prequel Legend of Grimrock.
