Early Access Review
Just a pre-review rant to everyone out there who doesn't understand the Steam review system:

Reviews are supposed to let people know if the game is fun to play, and perhaps what the developers are like. Reviews aren't the place to rant about bugs and issues especially when it's an early access game that literally came out less than a day ago.

Q: Is the game fun, with a high replay value?
A: Yes. It's uncluttered and goes back to the root of what a good FPS should be. A good selection of maps to boot, decent game modes and dedicated servers offers good replay value.

Q: Are there issues?
A: Yes. Of course there are issues. It's early access. But you know what? Unlike a lot of developers ~cough~ EA ~cough~, they're actually listening and fixing things. I'm willing to bet that even at 11PM at night there are people in the office working on this game to make it better for the players.

If this game were out of early access and was fully released, and there were issues in performance and servers, and the developers weren't fixing it - then sure, post a review about the bad performance. Let people know the developers have abandoned the game. But just to reiterate, the developers just released this and they're fixing it. So can everyone leaving negative reviews take some time to think about how stupid they're being?

Rant over:

Here are the pros, cons and improvements I think could be made:

Pros
  • Proper use of Unreal Engine means good graphics and good performance
  • Good selection of weapons
  • Good selection of maps
  • Good selection of game modes
  • Active and engaging developers
  • Dedicated servers - something all games should have (take a hint COD developers)
  • Really competitive price
  • No pay-to-win loot crates (take a hint Ubisoft)
  • Bots like Counter-strike!

Cons
  • Inflated negative reviews due to people not understanding what reviews are for

Improvements
There are parts of this game that I think could be improved:
  • Maybe a main menu like Counter-Strike where you have the server browser right at the start and you have like favourites, friends tabs etc
  • Would be nice if they got rid of the launcher window and integrated region selection into the options menu

I'll remove the improvements bit as and when they add it.

So yeah. This game is really polished for an early access game and isn't just a pile of garbage like a lot of early access, and I have high hopes the developers will continue to make this game great and won't abandon it. Once the server issues are ironed out and more of us get our own dedicated servers for communities it will be a great game to the throw back days of the better COD titles. I'm also really hopeful that competitive will take off, something I think died quite hard in the COD community when they started going P2P and lobby based.

I recommend you give this game a purchase, it's cheap and well worth the money.

Great little game - lots of fun, and definitely the best sound effects of any game to date!

Ever played any of the Call of Duty games that have come out before this? If the answer is yes then you know exactly what this game looks, feels and plays like - because it's exactly the same thing just with a different title, a guessable storyline and new guns that are basically re-skinned guns from the previous Call of Duty game. If no then this is your first Call of Duty I would assume, and I see you haven't been suckered out of your hard earned money yet - keep it that way and stay away from this pile of rubbish.

If you do however insist on playing a Call of Duty game, then buy something that's still great even after all these years - like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, or anything before it.

I've loved Cities in Motion since the first version and this second edition builds upon that with great improvements in both graphics and game-play. It features fairly in-depth management techniques dealing with running and maintaining a public transport monopoly using various types of vehicles. Thanks to the Workshop integration and dozens of third-party websites you can easily find modifications for this game to help expand it.

Pros:
In-depth vehicle, route and monetary controls
Improved graphics
More flexible vehicle designs (with reference to the metro expansion)
Less grid-like cities with a larger amount of freedom
Mod support and regular DLC releases
Includes multi-player and co-op
Maps are bigger
Custom rulesets

Cons:
Doesn't have as big of a mod base compared to the first Cities in Motion (limited to maps almost entirely)
Compared to games that inspired the genre like Transport Tycoon - it doesn't feature nearly as much detail or size

There are potentially more pros and cons, but these are the big ones that make or break the game. Would I recommend it? Yes - while it is missing a large portion of mod support and while it isn't that in-depth, it's still a great game that you can easily spend days playing if you're into this sort of genre.
