Great game design. This is a solid, cozy go-to game when you just wanna chill. It scratches my ARPG and Roguelike itch without needing a PHD or getting a headache. The sprite art is great and beats Vampire Survivors lackluster 8bit NES style. Love how the game just instantly puts you in a battle to get going with no funny business like an hour long tutorial or an hour of empty lore. This game is just straight, solid, easy to understand good fun. I think it'd be nice if the battle music was something more memorable. I thought the dialogue when the sprites were talking to eachother saying things like "tf" was cringe though.

The gunplay in this game is terrible and it's incredible that it's the #2 most played game on steam in 2025. Pubg fans a peabrain, low intellect, would be COD-gobblers that don't know a good game.

change spitfoot to end of hallway where the players focal point is. Jagex developers must understand this key concept: Jagex fans love the charming dialogue in the game and will read it, but will always start to spam space bar out of habit when the dialogue is taking too long or becoming uninteresting. Make talking to spitfoot a clear, distinct step in the games quest guide. I cleared the dungeon 4 times before noticing him, and this was after the update to add clarity to him.

When devs have this epiphany and fully acknowledge the bad space bar habits of RS players, this knowledge will allow them to make THIS their MAIN goal:

No player should feel the need to google or wiki or youtube a guide to a quest, side quest or recipe. This is the core concept to making this a good runescape game.

Runescape players have become disenchanted with having to do 3rd party research just to be able to enjoy a game. So far Dragonwilds did a solid job with streamlining this type of gameplay, taking from real life. You have to actually take a second and study your recipe books to figure out exactly what, and where to get the ingredients you’ll need. It’s a really appealing system to me as a 2007 Runescape veteran, but Dragonwilds is not all the way there yet..

You can make full-size attack and healing potions with snapdragons, but the recipe is not to be found in the early access version of the game.. Was this intended?

In Vannakas Dogs Days quest, you can’t move on in the quest until finding the Ritual of cleansing Lore book or whatever in the stormed highlands. Mentioned nowhere in the games quest guide.. Was this intended?

It’s really frustrating how many times the quest markers on my compass led me to something I did not have to do. This is the part of Dragonwilds that needs to be prioritized. These types of hitches in gameplay haulted me back literal hours. I don’t want to have to look anything up, I want to enjoy the mystery of exploration in one of the Fantasyworlds I’ve always wanted to see in 3d at my own pace.. The game is executed so beautifully that to me, as a runescape lover, it really hurts to have to look something up.. in essence ruining the fun of discovery for myself. The allure of exploration and discovery is something Runescape fans crave. But I digress.. Other than these issues, the game is absolutely amazing, and really worth playing. They are not far from getting everything right in the game design, and I am really excited for the games full release. Add more true to style armor, not just weapons, and maybe some more npcs and buildings. I’m craving more runescape charm! the animation and characters look amazing! it’s like what i imagined in my head when I first played runescape as a kid.

the game is pretty much not playable with the recommended required GPU 6600xt. Tried Super resolutions, fsr3, low settings, low resolutions, playing in 4:3, anti lag and everything. Its not worth getting the game yet unless you have a Maxed rig in my opinion, it's optimized really badly.
