This game was quite the surprise for a metroidvania type. Very well crafted and you can tell the developers put in a lot of time into this game. The music is fantastic and really brings in the atmosphere. The subtle sound effects are placed in both the background and in conversations which is a nice touch. Graphics are collages and conglomerates of realistic photos. Most of the time they work beautifully but there are times where the transitions are rough around the edges. The combat is smooth and gives much freedom for personal player style. The only down side really is the game starts a little slow in story but every chapter really draws in an immersive hook. Overall, there are very few metroidvania's out there that can compete with this one. Astlibra is definitively worth buying even without a discount.
