A modding scene would go hard

I launched the game i've owned for nearly a decade and never played to help break the highest total concurrent players record with DeSync's stream and then left it open on the main menu for 12 hours, the livestream was fun, also this is one of the most influential video games and also pieces of art

this game put me on a path for the rest of my life of some of the best video game experiences i have ever had. this game isn't that long, if you haven't played it, absolutely do so. and if you have a bit of extra time, get the bundle with both games and play both of them.
also i only have so many hours in this game because of 100%ing it and also steam counts all mods of the game as the game itself for playtime. so, all the time in portal beta mods and portal prelude and everything else, all counts

This says i have 257 hours in this God-forsaken Smash clone, but i actually have more, as i have played on many others' computers and a console version for a very large amount of time in college. I love this game. I am addicted to this game. This is in the top 10 pieces of media in life i am the most passionate about. This game has sucked more hours out of my life than i can genuinely recommend to another person. So, do I "recommend" this game? No. But only because it is my favorite game of all time and that's time i will never get back by, i don't know, not getting comboed by the fire characters or zoned by the DLC characters and doing literally anything else with my time, like maybe doing my homework.

Now, I don't play fighting games. At least I didn't use to. I played Super Smash Bros for 3DS and then Wii U and took it pretty seriously competitively, and got into a group at a college playing it along with other fighting games. I would never play any of the other games, as I just didn't care. But then one day, this game showed up, and I just had to try it out. I was instantly hooked and have been playing the game since then, grew in skill immensely since I started, and am now sitting at demon rank. This game is very beginner friendly and honestly does a great job of teaching you the hard way. My personal favorite thing about the game is the sheer deh of its mechanics: it's super complicated and deep but it doesn't get in the way of the "core" gameplay; the neutral is fun because controls are fun and responsive, and the combos are fun and (mostly) intuitive *cough hitstun scaling cough* and when you die, 90% of the time it feels like your fault you died and not some BS you couldn't control. Really solid game, would recommend to absolutely anyone.

That's only talking the core gamemode of fighting other people though. Imo, the story and arcade modes are extremely underwhelming gameplay wise, but the story mode can be kinda interesting if you wanna sink time into gettig all the unique character interactions, but time is something a lot of people don't have.

TL;DR gameplay is 10/10 story mode and anything else not multiplayer is 6/10 and YOU GET TO BEAT UP CELL AS YAMCHA WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR

If you haven't played this game yet, I gotta warn you, the meta has already developed an absolute ton, so if you wanna get into this game competitively, you're gonna have to be good enough to adapt FAST, something I was not able to do when I bought it back in 2015. This game is fun, fast, controls amazingly well, and if you mess up, it's not because game sucks, but because you need to GIT GUD.
