Not so fun fact: The separation of what is known today as "gender" and "sex" was coined by a sexologist named john money. He gathered the evidence for his gender theory with the David Reimer experiment, where he took a young boy whose penis was accidentally cut off and had the parents raise him as a female. He also made him simulate sex acts with his twin brother to make him a "bottom". The pair of twins both commited suicide in adulthood.
