Great game, but be warned, it's very unstable on modern systems, frequent crashes.

There`s a lot to be loved in Arx. The setting, the small stories, the sound effects, the colorful environments with strong art direction and the lovely animations for the creatures in the world.

However, this game shows its age in more than just looks. Hell, even beyond gameplay. Going in blind on this game is both delightful and frustrating, but you`ll probably HAVE to use a walkthrough on your first time playing this.

This game expects you to turn every single room upside down in order to find a note that might give you hints as to what to do. Sometimes, you don't even get a hint, you'll just have to visit places you've been to and figure which way you haven't explored yet. The final boss is one of the most atrocious things I've ever seen in my life.

That being said, there's a lot to love on Arx. Little details and fun storytelling and world building. You'll have to get over the cons though.

Finally, the following is almost NECESSARY to play this game without going insane:

- Melee combat is clunky. You may find that your attacks deal no damage. You must almost always charge your attack, or it will deal barely any damage, specially in early game. If you get 10-15 hits on a goblin and it doesn't die, a single charged attack will do the trick.
- You can buy a Keyring from the merchant in the city of Arx, this will hold all your keys, although you have to slot them into the keyring individually every time. This will save you a lot of time. Trust me.

The shotgun in this game is so beautiful i cried for a solid minute.

Soundtrack, audio design and visuals are great, although art style sometimes doesn't gel together nicely with level design due to noise, specially in Episode 1. This issue becomes way better after Episode 2 and 3 where the color green is better used to signpost.

Story is a mixed bag, you'll have to scan a few QR Codes to make much sense of it, as it's mostly on the background. Regarding gameplay, it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blast. Just play it.
