Here I am, 20 years later, realizing I never reviewed this title. It's okay though, the review system didn't exist when this game came out.

Look, the combat system isn't the best today, but for the time it was outstanding. For that matter, I really don't think there are many titles that did the combat as well as this did. Aside from the typical hack and slash and timing your blocks, you can creatively use spells and techniques to disrupt your enemies defense instead of just going straight at them. Or, if you want, you can just go straight at them. Your choice. It has skill trees for all of it.

It's a fairly entertaining game held back by gamebreaking bugs and crashes. Had to stop my playthrough at 2/3 of the game because my companion (who I needed to progress further) bugged into a wall and my last manual save happened an hour ago. If you decide to play it, make sure to manually save every 10 minutes because all sorts of glitches will sabotage you.

This is one of the top 10 worst games in my over 300 game library. This game bastardizes the source engine. Weapons do less than no damage meaning you HAVE to use only your environment to kill people. The enemies do way to much damage meanwhile you only have 50 health instead of a full health bar for no reason. The magic sucks and is nearly as useless as all the weapons in the game. There is no point for weapons to even be in the game considering they do not do anything at all. The enemies can hit you from 30 feet away while you have to be licking someones ear just to hit them. The heavy attacks never land or they always doge. Stunning them in near impossible and the kick almost never nocks then over without having to kick them 4 times. There is no story at all and is very boring and uninteresting. 1/10.
