Welp, we are reaching the end of this game's tormented ride.
A small team pouring work and love into a project that ended up having a lot more success that they could handle, a true shame.
The game will be off the store in a bunch of days, servers down in a month (though community server support is coming so at least that!). So what can i say about this game in its final hours?

It took me almost the full 2 years of the game's life since release to find enough friends to play it and it's been a blast honestly, i can imagine playing with randoms must've been a nightmare, but with people you know it was genuinely enjoyable, filled with funny moments and tense ones, from desperate last second nitroglycerin dashes, to pulling off the stew perfect stew poisoning from the armory without anyone being the wiser, to trying to sneak a cooked human meat in the stew ingredients only for one player to decided to grab the one already cooked meat anyway to not starve (curse you Tio for messing up my ultimate play!), to the newest and seemingly most clueless of us pulling off the perfect doppelganger play.

We'll keep playing until server shutdown, and if it's true community servers will be a thing afterwards, we'll definitely keep going for a while after.

Godspeed Drungerers, we'll find our way through the Northwest Passage yet!

despite the jank, despite all the problems it may have faced and the rocky road it's been in in its last years.

This game was the source of many memories, since 2014, i was there until the very end as the servers shut down for the last time.
I was 14, i am 23 now.
Farewell everyone, it's been an honour and a pleasure, thank you all, to the devs and the community, for all these wonderful years, these wonderful games and these wonderful memories,

Early Access Review
Has been quite a while since my last review, but i guess i'm gonna give it a shot anyway.
First of all, yes, i don't even have 2 hours in the game, and yes, i haven't played since last December.
I've received it as a gift and didn't like it, so i've been just "spectating", asking friends about the state of the game now and then, so i still know what's going on enough to make a decent review.
And yes again, i KNOW it's Early Access, but don't come here screaming that i should not judge the game because of it, because that's exactly the opposite of what you're supposed to do with games at this stage of development.

Well, where do i start?
This game DOES have a few pros, this is the only game i know with decently accurate dinosaur models, the devs do fix bugs fairly quickly, unlike some other teams *cough*Circle5*cough*.
Over all the graphics aren't too bad, if you have a PC good enough to handle it.

BUT, I am one of those people that don't care that much about graphics, if at all, if you're one like me, i really don't recommend this game, because so far (March 2016), there is litterally NOTHING ELSE WORTH THE MONEY HERE.

Right now, there is a complete lack of any real gameplay, all you do is eat, drink, walk and eventually die; i know this is EA, but it has been 4 months and i haven't seen any progress at all, instead the devs seem to focus on churning out more dinosaurs and skins, which, at least in my opinion, is just wrong. I'd much prefer an actual game with few classes rather than an aimless dinosaur walking simulator with several.

While the gameplay, which is the main reason why i refuse to go back to this game, may improve, there are two massive points that i'm afraid will not change any time soon: the community and the dev team.

The community is just awful, i wouldn't be surprised if i'd get fanboys screaming at me for daring making a negative review about their beloved "game", but i wish it was only that...if you join almost any server you'll see people screaming at each other almost 24/7, usually just raging away.

You will probably find carnivores being "friendly" towards herbivores, usually engaging herbivore herds doing some kind of "friendly dance" (basically spam crouching), and then either:
A) they just move on.
B) they sit there and offer themselves to protect the herd (ugh), raging if the herbivores do not accept them or if another predator attack their new "friends".
C) they attack the herbivores as soon as they lower their guard, if they take the bait.
There are also several herbivores going on killing sprees against everything that moves, i could go on for ages, but i guess it's time to move onto the last point.

Finally, the dev team: it's true they do churn out small bug fixes, classes and skins, but that's not my point, they are good devs, but they are not exactly great people.
The main dev, Dondi, is extremely rude and often slanders his own game's community in his streams.
Moderators encouraging public shaming (seriously), everyone is simply rude and incapable of relating with the community.

All in all, this game has been a HUGE disappointment for me and i highly doubt i'm gonna pick it up again in the near future, MAYBE if they'll give us an actual gameplay, but that's still a "maybe".
I don't recommend this game unless you're content of a sandbox with accurate dinosaur models.
Now let the fanboy salt begin in the comments

Best Hat-Collecting Simulator you can find on Steam!

Also has a decent FPS mini-game in it, all for free!

Also Conga

Early Access Review
DISCLAIMER: if you've reading this review, it is incredibly outdated by now, i'll see if i can find the time to make a new one eventually.

what can i say? This game looked promising and all and i wanted to try it out, i expected some problems at first, but what i had was just too much.
spent an hour trying to start a LAN game, had to go through infinite loading screens, 3 crashes and a forced computer reboot, once i finally got in i had to lower graphics to minimal tying to get decent FPS, getting 10 fps with Nintendo 64 graphics, 2 whenever i moved too far from spawn or too near a dinosaur.
The devs promised they will be working on it and are already patching it up, which is good, but optimization is fundamental and they should have thought about it BEFORE releasing the game.
They'd better be quick or refunds will kill the game and we all don't want to see yet another Stomping Land
As i already said, they are working on it, i'll wait for the game to be actually playable, but right now, i would not recommend this, at all

EDIT 06/06/2015
Barely a week and this game is already showing some sings of improvement, chapeau to the devs.
Sadly my performance is still pretty low, but i can now play the game without too many problems, if the devs will keep it up i'll turn my thumb upwards pretty soon

EDIT 19/07/2015
Haven't seen a lot of progress since, this game is still far from being enjoyable imo

after killing Alduin, went out without armor and weapons, fistfighting bandits and wolves, ended up running from 2 mammoths, one giant and a dragon, after a while the mommoths and the giant disappeared, so i tried to engage the dragon in melee, oneshot by his tail
10/10 would do again, no regrets
