I'm a 360° Nerd, stuck in the early 00's, that gives those "older brother vibes ".

Hardcore collector of: TCGs (YuGiOh & Magic the Gathering), Retro HW/SW and games, Big Box PC Games, D&d Dices, figures, Funko Pops and any kind of merch and geeky convention's gadgets. Huge nerd for Rockstar Games gadgets and merchandise.

I love playing board games (lately D&d, Talisman and Heroquest), and enjoy spending time painting minifigures or building GUNPLAS, model cars and diecasts. I also enjoy spending my time modding old consoles, games and electronic hardware of any sort. I've lately started building Custom Keyboards as a new hobby (r/MechanicalKeyboards).

TV Series and Movies addicted, in love with Adult American Animation (mostly Matt Groening's Toons), even tho i'm able to enjoy some Animes as well. DC-Comics fanboy since the beginning, huge Batman Lover, Comics reader and collector. Never been a huge fan of MARVEL related stuff (MCU Movies included). As you can see, i have a pretty big collection of games (ca. 10.000 games between Steam, GOG, other platforms and physical copies) but i tend to spend most of my gaming time playing Dota 2, WoW, MTG Arena, COD and any kind of MMORPG/RPGs that Steam has to offer (i've not experienced FFXIV so far but never say never). I also love playing arcade-sim racing games and FPS of any sort.

Since 2020 i am the co-founder and main coordinator of a selection-based import and exotics car meet named "Hardpark" (@hardparkevents on ig). I put a lot of effort in this event, and i'm very committed in this project, truly one of the best things i've ever done in my life. It's awesome to see our creature being alive and evolving year after year, receiving awards and pages dedicated on topic related magazines.

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

Premetto che fare questa recensione non è stata un’impresa facile, data la elevata suscettibilità sviluppata dal fandom negli ultimi anni… Detto questo possiamo cominciare.
Metal Gear, saga leggendaria amatissima da tutti che fece la sua prima comparsa su MSX2 nel 1987, sotto la guida del pluripremiato autore e scrittore giapponese Hideo Kojima, ancora una volta entra nella storia del gaming mondiale con questo titolo a dir poco eccelso.
L’esperienza di Kojima nella regia e sceneggiatura ed il comparto tecnico rinnovato (severa aggiornatina ai driver del Fox Engine N.D.A) rende l’impatto di insieme davvero ottimo e fa del titolo uno dei migliori pubblicati del 2015.
Ci troviamo di fronte ad un Metal Gear tutto nuovo, con l’implementazione di una mappa vastissima, e quindi di meccaniche prettamente open world, il ciclo giorno-notte, e tantissimi gadget introdotti nel gameplay per aiutare il nostro beniamino Snake nelle infiltrazioni stealth.
La libertà concessa al giocatore per la prima volta in questa serie, riesce ad elevare e variegare le tattiche di approccio ad ogni missione, permettendo al giocatore di scegliere arbitrariamente in che modo e con che attrezzatura, ma soprattutto quando affrontare una determinata missione. Così facendo Kojima ha garantito una longevità estrema al titolo, poiché ogni missione può essere giocata diversamente più e più volte risultando sempre differente e mantenendo sempre un altissimo livello di sfida, che caratterizza tutto il gioco (E bravo Kojima! N.D.A.).
La storia viene raccontata tramite audiocassette che possono essere ascoltate dal giocatore a suo piacimento, senza appesantire il gioco con filmati interminabili come succedeva nei vecchi titoli, a parte qualche piccola cutscene qua e là (Ma suvvia ci stanno, altrimenti non ci capireste davvero niente N.D.A.). Sveglio dopo nove anni di coma, con un corpo inutile e rotto, i muscoli atrofizzati e inservibili, Snake apre gli occhi in un letto d'ospedale. Addosso ha i frammenti di un'esplosione terribile, in testa i ricordi di una tragedia che lo accompagnerà per sempre. Una sconfitta militare e personale che gli si è incollata alle ossa: dalla fronte sporgono i detriti metallici come un corno demoniaco, cicatrice eterna e tomba silenziosa della giovane Paz. E’ così che vediamo cominciare questo titolo con questa trama dettata da scene avvincenti e un amaro sapore di vendetta che caratterizza buona parte del narrato e che potrebbe tranquillamente essere definita un film di spionaggio interattivo. Suddivisa in 2 capitoli e complessivamente 50 missioni (51 se solo konami si fosse fatta i fatti suoi N.D.A.) “raccontate” come in una serie tv, con tanto di intro e titoli di coda, dove il nome del maestro Kojima (o Coggima, per gli amici N.D.A.) sovrasta quello degli altri (e pensare che nei titoli di coda siano anche citati i personaggi del gioco…che chicca. N.D.A.).
L’unica cosa che riesce a rompere la magia che si instaura tra giocatore e gioco e qualche piccolo difetto grafico e di script che può dar noia a qualcuno, ma sinceramente il gioco ti prende così tanto che manco ci si fa caso.
Design generale e level design sviluppati in modo ottimo, stessa cosa per il character design che è come sempre a livelli stellari, con volti realistici e voci che calzano a pennello che ti fanno affezionare ad ogni personaggio rilevante della storia (Sempre più bravo questo Hideo… N.D.A.).
Implementazione innovativa e amatissima da tutti è lo sviluppo della mother base, che possiamo definire la ciliegina sulla torta, che insieme a tantissime armi, gadget e veicoli, una trama avvincente e ben strutturata, con personaggi stupendi, quasi reali, rende questo gioco un'opera che rimarrà nelle menti dei giocatori negli anni a venire, e verrà ricordata sempre come una delle migliori.
La domanda più frequente che assilla ogni giocatore acerbo dal punto di vista dei fatti narrati che è previa dell’acquisto del gioco è: "Posso giocare Metal Gear V senza aver provato i precedenti capitoli?" La risposta è "sì, no, boh!" perché la trama di Metal Gear è davvero contorta, complessa e sviluppata su diversi piani temporali, colma di riferimenti ai precedenti capitoli, da aver dato vita a gruppi di discussione e perfino due libri nel tentativo di spiegarla. Ovviamente aver giocato almeno qualcuno dei titoli principali è un plus molto importante in termini di contesto e immedesimazione. Per apprendere almeno qualcosa della storia sarebbe consigliabile giocare il prequel “Ground Zeroes”, molto più breve e semplice, quasi come una piccola demo a prezzo decisamente inferiore, prima di addentrarsi nella vastissima storia di questo titolo immenso.
Tirando le somme…

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain è un titolo mastodontico, con una struttura inedita per la serie particolarmente riuscita nel dare ampia libertà d'approccio al giocatore. La moltitudine di cose da fare è impressionante al netto di un po' di confusione generale; l'inizio è scoppiettante ed esaltante, il finale chiude il cerchio in una maniera che solo in pochi, geniali creatori come Hideo Kojima sanno fare; è la perfetta emanazione del suo creatore e continuerà a far parlare di sé per tanto tempo a venire perché è un titolo lontano anni luce dall'essere banale.
