got it for free on epic games launcher, but it is so good that i am willing to buy it on steam again.

-> The multiplayer does work, but it desyncs a lot, only the host can drive without a massive amount of lagging and causing gamebreaking bugs, essentially the other players are just spectators, and occasionally get to move stuff when no driving is being done, which is not a lot.




(Random fps spikes and framedrops, especially when you are near buildings)


The game was, and still is very fun, its just not getting the attention it deserves from the devs, none of the bugs are being fixed, no new content is being added (or if any new content is added its only fun in the early game, where is already plenty of stuff, the mid to endgame needs more content), nothing is being done to this game.

I feel a bit bad for giving this a negative review, i like this game and think its a great deal when its on sale, and lots of fun, but its just not in the state to be recommended to anyone for the full price and for the lack of updates.

I haven't played enough to give my opinion on the game, but from the experience my summer car game me and the way topless gun developes the game, i am here to boost this games reach by leaving a positive review. i will update this when my opinion on the game has been shaped enough for a proper review. (i will remove this part when i feel like i know enough to give a more in-depth opinion)

Update 1: It has been mostly playable (a few minor bugs here and there as expected)
I love how much content and quests there are, but you still get some of the freedom that you had in my summer car.

Update 2 (61h of playtime): After hitting 60 hours of playtime, i can pretty confidently say that this game is way more fun than my summer car, if you like the extra challenge of having to work your ass off to keep up with the car part orders and your rent.

The sorbett is quite fun to rally around the small roads, you can almost fly half of the way, the ♥♥♥♥ truck also is surprisingly agile on the corners, can't wait to get the rivett ready to hit the road, i do have a ♥♥♥♥ ton of parts but i am still missing some stuff like rocker arms and the crankshaft for some reason, i just haven't found one yet.

Update 3 (87h of playtime): the project car is on the brink of being ready to drive, it has taken a lot of effort to get it to this point, and i like the way i have to to work and scout out the parts for my car to actually get it to work. Working has brought mixed feelings for me, i lost one of the jobs (taxi) for not working, but i was busy working the other jobs (♥♥♥♥ pumping and wood delivery), i havent tried the other job due to the strict work schedule yet (i dont know how much it pays exactly but i know that i dont want to spend my time like that yet, maybe when i get the car ready etc). So for work you might want to prioritize taxi and futufon if you choose to get them (if you get the taxi job i recommend for you to go get a sandbag from the parents house, so it doesn't get stuck everywhere all the time, 1 was enough for me).

this game brings the misfortune of owning a old ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ without having to actually go through it irl. 10/10

Only because i don't believe in absolute perfection.
What used to be the nice crashing simulator, has evolved and gotten closer to being the great everything simulator, everything refined near perfection.
What really makes this one of the greatest games is the amount of detail everywhere. i haven't found anything in this game that has been half assed in over 500 hours of gameplay.

The game has:

• A freeroam mode. I find the freeroam mode to be the one i mostly play.
  
• A few story modes. Each has a different story to play, i haven't played any of them past the first few missions, and can't really comment on them.
  
• A career mode. Where you can earn money by doing jobs such as package deliveries, car deliveries, police chase missions, police evading missions, racing (many kinds), drifting, off-road missions, and many kinds of material transporting missions for construction sites. That is all i can remember for now, there are lots of other things too. You can also buy cars for yourself, modify them, use them to do the missions, or sell them.
  
• Seperate missions/scenarios. A collection of various types of missions, ranging from racing, trucking, offroading, all the way to using a cannon to cause the max amount of destruction.
  
• Bus routes. i haven't really tried them yet, so i cant comment on them.
  
• A rally mode. A nice amount of rally tracks on various maps, with various stages on each, with many different cars.

I might not have included all modes there, only the ones i can remember at the time.

Here is a short list of things i find to be the pros and cons of this game:

• Very realistic driving.
  
• Very good force-feedback.
  
• Very good modding support.[www.beamng.com] (for more cars, maps and additional features, such as multiplayer, you will a lot of interesting mods to add, some of the mods i would call essential are RK's Highly Customizable Engines and CJD Special Tunes, they add lots of new customization options to the cars.)
  
• Many of maps to choose from. If none of the maps are what you are looking for, you will likely find it from the mod repository. (some gems i have found include various snowy versions of the official maps, and some excellent rally stages.)
  
• Extremely good car modification options, you can customize your car, part by part, and get to control every fine detail in your suspension setup, rev limiter behavior, boost limits, gear ratios, rear wing angle, even the amount of oil in the engine, to very fine details. The only game i have found with more detail is my summer car/my winter car (games where each bolt and screw is accounted for.).
  
• A sizable list of vehicles and objects to drive and spawn, you will find most types of cars that you are looking for there, even an old cannon, a piano, a bathtub, and a mattress (the piano, bathtub, and mattress are obviously not drivable, but you can spawn one on the road and try driving on it at dangerous speeds to see what happens).

• GUI is sometimes a bit slow (Currently its undergoing improvements, we'll see what comes out of it, my best fix to make it better is to disable live updates while modifying the car to get it a bit faster and update the car manually when i need to)
  
• The AI sucks at driving sometimes (i think this is understandable as the amount of detail the AI has to account for will make it harder to get to be great, it's tolerable, but it could definitely be improved upon)

What i often do is to just load into freeroam, spawn in a car, and spend lots of time tweaking the ♥♥♥♥ out of it, then taking it for a drive, tweaking it some more to get to perfection, race around, swap a car and repeat, and occasionally use a multiplayer mod to race my friends, and sometimes start a new career mode save and play around there doing car delivery, package delivery, racing.

I have very likely forgotten to add some details of the game to add to the review.
BeamNG.drive is definitely one of the best things you can buy.

After playing BeamNG.drive, all other driving games will feel underwhelming.

I bought the game after remembering what a good time i had playing back in the day on a ps3, i paid for it, Just to have uplay launcher not even let me play it, i went through the hassle of resetting my password just to get a message that the launcher service is down or something along the lines, If i knew it was gonna be like this i would just have dumped my ps3 copy and played it on an emulator instead to save all the time and frustration that i had to put in, while not even getting to play the game i paid for.

it has minor bugs from time to time but its fun to play generally

Playing the DLC was fun. But:
-The DLC took me about 2.5 hours (around 20 minutes of which was breaks) to complete (all objectives in every mission)
-There are only 2 maps and 9 missions

There was also a bit weird stuff like the horses being able to penetrate through walls as if the walls are made out of paper, which is understandable as the DLC launched today.

overall i think the DLC is lacking content, considering the 8€ price.
