After playing over 100 hours of the Sims 3 I can finally say that any trace of manhood is now completely gone.
All in all, the Sims 3 is a great addition to the Sims franchise and obviously follows it's predecessors with a huge amount of overpriced DLC/Expansion Packs. What were you expecting, though? It's developed by EA. The game is constantly being updated and patched by the developers, but unfortunately continues to have many glitches. The actual base game is very dull and if you want to have fun for more than 5-10 hours you should purchase expansions. The fact that you need expansions to continue having fun with the game is kind of a big no no, though. I do like the game along with my bundle of expansions but have recently grown tired of it after playing it non-stop for awhile.
The verdict is if you're interested in the game then go ahead in buy it. Just don't buy it blindly, know what you're getting into (Watch youtube videos, read reviews, etc.)

Saints Row The Third is an extremely fun Sandbox crime simulator that is similar to Grand Theft Auto IV. Saints Row has a sweet Character Creation menu, the game doesn't take itself seriously so if you're into that, check it it.
