Pros
  • Cities utilizing their zone of influence with buildings instead of the buildings being only inside in the city tile itself
  • Diplomacy (more straightforward - using influence currency)
  • City states (how to become allies with them specifically by using influence)
  • Maximum number of cities (gives you significantly unhappiness in cities for each city over the limit, which can be increased with policies, leaders, ages, etc.) - less about just super expansion in the beginning
  • Not having to use/maintain workers is nice
  • Commanders are neat
  • Natural disasters are an interesting addition
  • Foundation leveling is neat
  • Leader leveling is interesting (see neutral/unsure section about leaders)
  • Graphics are nice
  • Cross platform idea is neat
  • Music is great
  • Decent narrator (I'll give it to her since it's a hard act to follow: Sean Bean & Leonard Nimoy)
  • Game having their own official Discord is a neat touch
  • Game designers listening to feedback and being responsive
  • Can set victory conditions
  • Now has a large and huge map
  • Change so by default independent encampments can be friendly instead of potentially being at war
  • Concept of ages is actually kind of fun

Cons
  • No way to see a (clickable) list of all military units (what if you have many unit spread out that are on sleep)?
  • Can't upgrade all military units of the same type at once
  • No auto explore for scouts
  • Can only assign resources to cities/towns when a new resource is found/new age
  • Requiring a 2k account to: get a leader to play as & to play online isn't great (perhaps it's for cross platform?)

Neutral/Unsure
  • Leaders independent of a civilization
  • Unlocking leaders (at least one requires paying extra money for the game)

Conclusion
The devs are listening to feedback on their Discord channel, so this game has a lot of potential to match civilization 5 and perhaps even surpass it as they fix bugs, modify features and give more advanced settings to starting the game.
