It's like driving an old car. There's obviously a lot of new technology that could make it a smoother experience, but there's a lot more personality and uniqueness that you just won't find anymore.

Thousands of NPCs with their own unique names and personalities that change as your game progresses, tons of different enemies (even though you'll likely only see the same small handful for most of your gameplay), and endless ways to personalize your game with custom builds and the ability to create your own spells and enchantments.

Combat can be clunky for sure and the hitboxes definitely have some major issues, but nothing really excessive for a 20 year old game. It might take a while to get stronger, but you can really feel how each level makes you just a little bit better in a way that never really loses its magic. You really have to work to survive because there aren't really "beginner" areas and you aren't shoehorned into quests. The game tells you how things work on a basic level then lets you explore.

No quest markers, so you'll actually have to read road signs and ask people for directions, but directions are always somewhere. In Skyrim you'd see a guide to Whiterun and think it's just a goofy worldbuilding add-in, but in Morrowind the city guides and various books actually work as valuable tools to help you navigate. The game has resources available to you but it won't spoonfeed you.

Overall the game plays more like an interactive CYOA book than an FPS, with absolute oceans of worldbuilding info and lore and quest storylines delivered mainly through text, but if you don't like reading paragraph after paragraph of lore then the Elders Scrolls series might not be for you anyway. Biggest and most glaring issue is that Morrowind highlights how differently the later games in the series were handled. Don't play if Skyrim is your favorite game because Morrowind shines a massive spotlight on all the features and content Bethesda didn't put in their later releases.

You can tell they did the basic Skyrim formula but learned a lot from Skyrim feedback, which is nice to see. Fun game with a lot to do. Pretty typical and straightforward Bethesda quest sim where you'll probably have 10 different characters with wildly different builds and varying progress in the main questline and with all the different factions.

This is to Fallout 3 what Skyrim is to Oblivion. A vast improvement overall and lots of lessons learned by the devs, but with a few controversial changes like the perk system. It's what you'd expect. Still tons of fun, the graphics and visuals are still flawless especially given the release date, and with different builds and random events changing up the gameplay in little ways you can play it virtually forever. Definitely recommend. Get it during a sale with all the DLC included if you can, because they add a lot of great content.

enjoyable game with unique premise but frustrating problems

first and most glaring issue: oh for the love of god the awful spotting system, it's one of the absolute worst things about world of warships and world of tanks and this game takes it to a whole new extreme

on top of that, the AI enemy scaling in some of the challenge levels is just depraved

the game just poops out what's essentially an evil clone of your ship with better everything and supernatural aim, add on the horrible spotting mechanics and it means they can delete your ships AND turn invisible in the middle of a fight

in battleship levels the game will look at what main guns you chose and just give the enemy ship guns that are a direct improvement, so trying to get a core advantage against the AI can be completely pointless in a lot of cases

this game has a lot going for it being one of the few ship building games out there, and you can definitely get enjoyment out of it, but a lot of the game's features as they stand right now can feel really strangling, to a point where it feels less like a challenge and more like you just aren't meant to progress or even enjoy the game without cheesing stats in specific areas to the absolute decimal, which feels really odd in a game that's this sandbox-oriented

it feels like they want to go in the direction of a serious alternate history pen and paper EV training type of game, but then there's just immersion breaking nonsensical things like the stupid cloaking device spotting system that as far as i'm concerned just grind the game to a screeching halt and aren't a good feature in ANY style of game, much less in one that's trying to use realism

i have both high hopes for this game's progress and at the same time a dark lingering dread that it's going to just end up being the worst parts of more popular vehicle games, but i'm leaning more to the optimistic side because of the potentially awesome gaming niche this game could easily fill in the future

if you're looking for a fun adventure game full of action, spiral knights should be at the top of your list. it's best described as a town-based dungeon crawler, although there's a huge level of expansiveness and amazing gameplay to back that up.
one of my favorite features about this game is the sheer amount of level and enemy diversity along with metric tons of secrets, tricks, and easter eggs, which work seamlessly with the great party system which allows for a really fun and overall enjoyable time with friends and allies and ensures that you never have a dull moment. even the REQUIRED missions are fun and challenging, and each one makes sure you have to use different skills and tactics to complete the mission. the only downside to this game is that when you begin to get higher up in levels, it gets significantly harder to get materials. however, you can either choose to shell out a few real-life dollars to buy materials to assist you, or just spend some extra time to grind for them for free (which, like i said, is potentially a fun experience on its own with the gameplay).
overall, a really great game and definitely one to try out!
(bring some steam friends or make some in-game to really bring out the full experience)
