Talk about optimized!

Someone explain how this game can run at max graphics on triple monitors at 60 fps for me but Fallout 4 can't even pull 45 fps on a single screen with medium quality?

Whatever I.G. did needs to be standard issue.

Very atmospheric and classy. Blends the elements of the popular modern games Fallout 4 and Prey, even years before either of them came to light.

This game is way too underrated. I understand why it gets a lot of hate; it broke from a well-established pattern of Assassin's Creed games. True: It's nothing like the other games- It has minigames and miniquests, creed points and helix points, co-op and rpg elements. In an AC game? Heresy. In any other game? Good qualities.

This was my first Assassin's Creed game, so I was able to experience it without comparing it to any precursors (punpunpun). My experience was wholly positive: Great graphics, engaging revenge/redemption story, a 1:1 replica of Revolutionary Paris, and unlimited amounts of cool parkour moves.

If you're a newcomer to the AC series, and you still have an open mind, give this game a shot- it's worth it. Bugs have been patched and price is lower than the other next-gen AC games. If you're an old follower of the series, I'd still advocate trying this one out and doing your best to view it as a completely stand-alone video game (that just happens to borrow the plot of AC).

Point is, EEEZ GUUD.

So for the most part this just unlocks a biome and the corresponding discoveries. If that's what you're interested in go for it, but it's pretty small for the 3.99

Foreknowledge: I played the 'TES' series backwards (for some reason), starting with ESO and then working through Skyrim, Oblivion, and now Morrowind. So this review has no sort of sentiment or nostalgia attatched.

"ERRRM MY GLOB! THIS THING IS A MASTERPIECE!"

I put this game on my wishlist thinking 'Oh, I already have the other TES games... I might as well complete the collection, even if I'm not gonna play it- ever.'
But then my friend bought it off my wishlist and my entire view of TES was turned around. This game, even at 15 years old, presents a level of meaning and immersion that I have never seen in any video game: modern or classic. I hit 'New Game' and within the first 5 seconds of the intro video I was thinking to myself: "Oh. Oh yeah this is going to be GOOD."

I was met with a soundtrack like no other- containing dramatic music filled with excitement and boisterous music filled with gaity. My heart fluttered at this game. I couldn't play more than a day without tearing up 3 times at the beauty.

This game is a masterpiece, indeed.
It may be blurry.
It may be foggy.
It may be nearly impossible to land a swing until you're level 2.
But it is a masterpiece nonetheless.

Like many other Elder Scrolls fans, I am disappointed that Bethesda reintroduced Skyrim instead of making a new game in the series. Many people antagonize Bethesda Game Studios for daring to re-release Skyrim, even with the updated graphics, because of how they attempted to disable achievements with mods. Having played the classic before buying this game, I felt slightly disappointed with their decision and felt that way most of my playthrough.

But then I thought about something. There are employees- humans beings with lives- who spent their 9-to-5 every day designing textures, models, dialogue lines, and concept art. I thought about how it must have felt for those people, who poured hours into working on the original Skyrim, to see that the community turned around and replaced models, textures, and graphics relentlessly.

I'm a big believer in letting players customize the game to THEIR preference. I think that modding and customizing makes players happier and makes for a better-selling game. But even with that knowledge, I can't help but think that some unknown texture artist or animator in Bethesda might have wished that people had appreciated their textures enough to keep them.

So after having thought that way, I came to a conclusion that helps me think about the Special Edition in a positive light. I have no doubts that in was indeed a cash grab, and I still think disabling achievements with mods was kinda scummy, but I realize that these actions weren't JUST to increase income. I think that with Special Edition, Bethesda tried to make players play the game the way that Bethesda intended. Along this route, I like to view "Skyrim: Special Edition" as more of a "Skyrim: Directors' Cut". It's to give those lowly animators and artists a chance to show their work to the world without it getting completely covered up.

Of course, anyone could just download the Mods Achievements Enabler and crush the hearts of the exhausted artists.

In the end, I still disagree with how Bethesda has been wiggling into the modding scene and how they have been delaying new games and instead focusing on keeping older games alive, but I also think that Skyrim: Special Edition isn't a bad thing.

Skyrim: Special Edition is Skyrim, the way it was meant to be played.

I easily would have paid at least $15 for this game...

My first playthrough was awesome! I had the luck of teaming up with a decent player (Not some troll) and we had a lot of fun together. Graphics are well done, puzzles are tricky but not too difficult. The marionette scared the hell out of me.

10/10 would "Eskimo Theater Exorcist" again...
