I figured that out myself though, after I remembered a blog post about heuristics to detect text and avoid applying HRS to these areas in Mesa. Thanks for your help though, really nice of you! I saw your post on Phoronix. To fix the messed up text in some games, turn off half-rate shading or whatever it is called in the ... options.
