Dune!!!!

the sands are a calling!

spice is life, and it must flow!

ok, so seriously, lets talk about Dune Awakening.

Graphic Art:
The game itself is beautiful, the artists have truly out done themselves, along with the animators and tech team that made it all work and look so beautiful. the occasional graphical glitch might occur here and there, but usually only see them after I've been in game 8 to 10 hours without restarting.

Building:
this is the bread and butter when it comes to any survival game worth its salt, errr, Water. And Dune does not disappoint. The building system is amazing, pieces easily snap in position for the structures. The building variety gives lots of room to design a home base with just the right look for the player. between basic building, to Choam, to Atreides, to Harkonen building sets. you can definitely build something unique to suit your own style.

Survival:
Dune is a desert planet, and water is the source of life, keep a close eye on your water. Dehydration is a thing. And its not fun to be dehydrated. It's a well balanced survival system in Dune Awakening. I am very pleased by how they made water the most important thing you need for survival. As long as you manage your water well you will be able to manage your survive-ability in Dune.

PVE ? yes
PVP ? yes

Ok, yes, the game has PVE and PVP, but nothing is forced. You want to pvp, great, play the story and get a ornithopter and go to deep desert where all the pvp is at. Don't like pvp? thats ok, everything you need to enjoy the game and stay out of pvp is available in Hagga Basin where pvp is slim to none as there are only 2 or 3 spots that are flagged for pvp.

Recommended? yes!!

this game seems to have something for every gaming style, pvp, pve, exploration, quests, missions, resource farming, building, ground vehicles, air vehicles, and sand, lots and lots of sand.

I've lost sleep because i didn't want to stop playing! I've forgotten to eat, it is so immersive.

230 hours in and I am still not finished, there's still loads more to do.

my rating: 9/10, nothing is perfect, but this game is pretty darned close.

The First DLC is out and I've been able to complete it. There's two parts to the DLC, a paid part and a free part. Both are fun and add to the story of the game. if you got deluxe or ultimate versions you got both. if you got standard only you got just the free part.

The free DLC addition: Chapter 2 of the story. This part adds lots of new things to do, some more journeys and contracts to work thru. You will have fun if you do them. Not to mention learning more about the story this game is telling.

The paid DLC addition: this part included new story, new contracts, new building pieces, and a new vehicle. The vehicle was a lot of fun to earn and play with. But it's no better than a bike with different mechanics for riding. It looks cool, might be great for some racing against other players. Would been fun to have it earlier in the game instead of the sand bike. But its added in at the aluminum stage, so, T4. The story was fun, definately reccomend playing it.

New stuff since the last edit: it's finally on the live version, you can fly through the world map with your carrier while carrying another vehicle. This is amazing, and makes setting up and breaking down your deep desert base so much easier.
