I'm currently navigating my 40s, which means I've witnessed gaming evolve from floppy disks to cartridges to "day-one patches" and 100GB downloads.

I started my true gaming journey back in the glorious 90s on a nintendo console and a Pentium II PC — which was basically a NASA supercomputer at the time. I grew up on classics like Quake, Tomb Raider, and Monkey Island, and I definitely spent an unhealthy number of hours with them.

I got my first PlayStation (the original grey legend) and was introduced to absolute masterpieces like Final Fantasy VII and Metal Gear Solid. After that, I mostly stuck with consoles… until I eventually came back to PC gaming for good. These days I feel that consoles are slightly cheaper PCs running the same games, just with fewer options and higher prices — so the choice became pretty easy 😅

I play pretty much everything and enjoy trying new stuff all the time, but my first love was platformers back in the NES days, when jumping on things solved problems in life. As gaming evolved, I became a big fan of FPS (the ones they refer to as boomer shooters, RPGs, and action-adventure games. If a game is well-made and pulls me into its world, I'm sold. Bonus points if I forget what time it is.

As for my favorite game, picking just one favorite game feels illegal, so I'll go with my "digital comfort zone" list - the games I always come back to: GTA III, Full Throttle (a classic point-and-click gem), Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, Ocarina of Time, and Half-Life. These titles shaped my gaming DNA.

When I'm not gaming, I enjoy reading fantasy books (especially the Vlad Taltos series by Steven Brust), watching classic sitcoms, listening to game soundtracks, and learning technical stuff about computers, programming and hardware - because I apparently can't relax without turning something into a project.

My current Steam account shows 12 years of service, but technically I joined Steam on launch day just to play Half-Life 2 (back when installing Steam felt like installing a secret government experimental program). Sadly, that original account is lost to history along with the email attached to it.
