Gameplay-wise, Pragmata is really creative with the hacking mechanic during combat real left brain/right brain stuff. Story-wise, it's setting up to be a father-daughter type game, kinda like The Last of Us or Telltale's The Walking Dead. Running around an abandoned space station also reminds me of Dead Space. As for performance, I'm able to max the game out with path tracing on and DLSS set to Quality and get over 60fps at 3440x1440 (tested on a 4080 on Windows). So perhaps Capcom has learned from DD2 and MH: Wilds.

My only real complaint about the game is that the cutscenes have black bars on the sides on ultrawide monitors. I'll update this review once I finish the game.

Update: Finished the game on Linux, and without spoilers, the story is about what I expected which isn't to say the story is bad in any sense. I wouldn't be surprised if this game either catches a GoTY nomination or wins Best Action Game at TGA in December. For the two Linux users that may be reading this review, the game ran great on a 9070 XT using proton-cachyos

I've been playing this game since the PS4 version launched and I always end up coming back to it. The gameplay of Warframe feels like a power trip disguised as a game, from bullet jumping through hordes of enemies to clearing entire rooms with your Warframe's abilities and watching your screen get flooded with red numbers. The best thing about Warframe is how the premium currency, platinum, can be earned without spending money and without much grinding just by trading prime Warframe parts to other players.

... Also the devs added a BBW Warframe and as a resident BBW lover I'm here for it.

First MGS game I've ever played, and although the controls took a little getting used to, the game was amazing, with The End and The Sorrow being my favorite boss fights as they weren't the typical "light the boss up" type of fights. The story is short, but not in a bad way more in a "respects your time" sort of way, as there really isn't anything in the game that felt like filler or the devs trying to pad out your playtime. Maybe this is a result of the original being from the PS2 era, when devs were constrained by what they could fit onto a DVD, and I wish more games would learn from this.

In regards to performance, the game ran very well on my system with zero crashes throughout my entire playthrough.

Great game, runs through proton with no issues. If you want to restore the content that was removed for being too "cultured" theres a patch on twitter.

Also the world needs more chubby furry women.

I don't know who these devs sacrificed at the studio to optimize the game this well but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it runs like butter, the combat feels nice so far. I'm looking forward to diving more into this game

It's more of Death Stranding 1, and it's fun. My only gripe is performance. On a 7800X3D / RTX 4080 at 3440x1440 ultrawide with the High preset, DLSS Quality, and no ray tracing, the game is pegging my CPU at 90–95% and it's a struggle to keep a steady 60fps. Reading through some of the other reviews, this appears to be an issue that isn't exclusive to Linux, as a few Windows users are reporting similar performance problems.

For Linux users: it worked out of the box for me on proton-cachyos with NTSync. I've seen others say Proton Experimental works as well.

While the gameplay is solid, feeling like Devil May Cry and No More Heroes, I cannot recommend the game in its current state. The optimization simply isn't there. Even with an RTX 4080 and a 7800X3D, I am forced to drop to the lowest settings just to maintain a consistent 60fps at 1440p.

Also, the lack of 21:9 ultrawide support is a glaring omission for a 2026 release, and to top it off, the menus are so visually busy they border on overstimulating. It had me squinting at my screen like a boomer, and Im only 27.

Despite the negative reaction people had to this game, I was morbidly curious and wanted to give it a fair chance in order to form my own opinion. Unfortunately, this title uses kernel-level anti-cheat that completely excludes Linux and Steam Deck players. I literally cannot give your game a try.

EDIT: I nuked my Linux install just to try this out... and it’s honestly mid. It’s not a bad game, but it isn’t a good one either. I don't think 3v3 is the right format, 5v5 or even 6v6 would be better considering the map size. The world feels empty and lifeless between POIs, the audio design makes it difficult to tell where people are coming from, and it feels like this was intended to be a BR game before the devs quickly shifted focus. I almost feel bad for the team if this hadn't been shined in the spotlight at the Game Awards, it would have flopped in silence rather than facing this level of scrutiny

The prologue hit me right in the feels, and the QTEs during combat add a refreshing twist to turn-based gameplay, much better than just watching or skipping animations. I'm looking forward to seeing everything else this game has in store.

UPDATE: Just finished the game, and this is definitely a contender for Game of the Year. The dialogue between characters feels natural, and their personalities are distinct enough that they don't come off as cardboard cutouts of anime tropes. The story’s main theme will leave you questioning whether you made the right choice in the epilogue. In summary, I'm afraid the French made peak.

The game is a blast to play, but it runs and looks terrible unless you have a high-end PC to brute-force through the horrid optimization. If you’re expecting smooth performance out of the box, and aren't running either a 90 tier card or playing at 1080p prepare for disappointment.

UPDATE: HR 50 – Still a Mess
For those wondering, here are my specs:
CPU: 7800X3D
RAM: 64GB @ 6000MT/s
GPU: RTX 4080
Storage: Samsung 970 Evo (NVMe SSD)
Resolution: 3440x1440

Even with this setup, performance issues persist. However, I’ve found some tweaks that help while we wait for Capcom to (hopefully) patch things:

Fixes & Workarounds for Performance Issues:

Camera Stuttering? Try the DirectStorage mod from NexusMods. Also, ensure the game is installed on an NVMe SSD for best performance.

General FPS Improvement? Installing REFramework noticeably improved performance—possibly due to it disabling Capcom’s anti-tamper system.

DLSS Users: If you have an Nvidia GPU, use DLSS Swapper to update the game’s DLSS DLL to the latest version (DLSS 4). This lets you use a lower performance preset while retaining visual quality comparable to DLSS 3’s Quality mode.

Capcom, please fix this.
