Is the story any good?
Honestly, it's a super predictable game. The story is a bit of a slog until you get to the middle, but after that, it's... just okay. I'm not gonna spoil anything, but the ending is the biggest letdown. It gives you zero emotional payoff and just kind of makes you feel like you wasted a few hours. No happiness, no sadness, no shock—you just feel nothing because you saw it all coming.

What's up with the "empty world" people keep talking about?
I'm not sure why that's such a big deal. The game takes place in the countryside, so it's full of farms and vineyards. The people are mostly poor farmers, so of course they don't have sports cars and horses running down the street. It's actually kind of realistic. Plus, the game is pretty linear, so you can just skip most of the driving and jump right to the next mission zone. I hated the driving, so I skipped it every chance I got.

What's the gameplay like?
The best part of this game is the gunplay. The cover-to-cover mechanics are really smooth and feel more like something you'd see in a special ops game than a regular mobster title. The guns themselves, though, kind of suck. Once you get the shotgun, it makes every other gun useless. Why would I use a weak pistol when I can just run and gun, one-shotting every enemy with the shotgun?

Are the characters memorable?
The characters are all right, but the only ones who really stick with you are Luca and Isabell. A lot of the story is centered on them, and they can feel surprisingly real and genuine at times, even though they're a little bit of a trope.

So, should I buy this game?
I'm completely neutral on this one. It’s not great, but it's not terrible either—it's just a very "meh" experience. I wouldn't advise you to get it, but I wouldn't tell you to avoid it, either. If you're thinking about getting it, definitely wait for a sale. At its $50 price point, it's not nearly engaging or immersive enough to be worth it.

Thought it was good at first and it turns out that it's pretty undercooked in all aspects lmao. after the first like hour of gameplay that new game bliss quickly runs off and you are left with the following

- Dead open world
- performance issues even with fsr on
-like 3 classes of vampires who all fight the same
- zero memorable side stories/ characters
- the map isnt diverse at all
- the AI is undercooked as ♥♥♥♥
* they all typically sit there and get shot or 360'ed by me bouncing from laylas elevator with a blue pump
- there are no cutscenes only slideshows to convey where you are in the story
- again on performance, the onscreen sludge that is all the post processing makes it run at like 4 fps in some moments. and textures look like sketchfab fortnite renders without all the post processing

5/10 still better than forspoken but not by much at all
at first i left a somewhat positive review but after playing on xbox and then playing on pc i started to see the flaws lmao
do not be like me and buy this ♥♥♥♥, save that $70 and throw a pizza party for yourself

Gotham knights is a solid game, a game that you can have fun with however it lacks in some key areas which makes this game a bare minimum recommendation.

- the combat isn’t all that “fun”
It’s fun for a few hours but after a few hours, you kind of fall into doing the same combos over and over again because there really isn’t a lot of depth into the actual combat of the game.

- The 4 playable characters aren’t really all that unique in game compared to the characters they represent. When you think about it they are just 4 classes with the glasses being (Brawler, stealth, tech , and Nightwing who’s just a mix of the other 3 lmao) and at best they all kind of don’t have much of a difference between the them besides the play styles they represent. But the thing about that is, every character can do pretty much everything but the character who specializes in that thing can do it better, if that makes sense.

- The game is boring
Look I know the whole point of the game is to fight crime and what not but since the game focuses ONLY on that. It gets boring quick. There’s no like daytime little mini quests or anything or too many things that go deeper into the characters you legit fight crime -> go to base -> craft new gear -> fight crime -> repeat not too mention there are only like 4 crimes you will repeatedly fight and there are 6 pedestrians on the street at all times so yeah there’s the immersive experience

-the story is boring
Don’t need to go into this cause I don’t want to spoil it’s just boring. Cookie cutter at best

Solo this game is a 6.5/10
But the only reason I can recommend This game is because if you have a friend it become an 8/10 with all the funny dumb moments you can have

Early Access Review
I hit a dude with 37 hooks in a fight and got knocked out in 1 punch 9/10

update:
That being said I still have a few gripes with this game.
- counter punching is kinda overpowered, since the update to counters gives 25% extra damage to counter hits, getting hit with a counter feels like getting hit by mike Tyson after he inhaled steroids. in one instance of this in my last fight, I landed 445 headshots out of 550 thrown, and my opponent landed 225 out of 500 thrown. given all of those hits to the head I landed I not once dazed him, in turn, I was dazed 4 times and eventually knocked cold lmao. Now I don't think the buff to counters was bad per se as it rewards slower-paced realistic play but I do think that the damage you can do with counter hits alone makes landing regular non-counter hits feel irrelevant. And in some cases it feels like the damage you did the whole fight never really mattered. They should lower the damage again by about 5-10% to make counter hits a punishment and not a death sentence

Furthermore, I think they should invest in some actual servers. The game seems to have a peer 2 peer connection which in some cases, more often than not if the person you're up against has any internet problems, It's noticeable immediately. In one instance a guy I was having a match with started lagging and on my screen, he was just kind of shuffling around letting me punch him and then I just randomly became knocked out lmao. It's still early access so I'm sure something will come about soon to help mitigate connection issues but as of now, ranked play is a gamble.

landing punches and getting punched feels a bit spongy? if that's the best term. there's not much in the game in terms of visuals or sounds that emphasize landing a big punch or make the punch seem powerful. most times it's just a slugfest until someone enters the dazed state. There is a bit of a flash when you counter punch but that's really it. no visual or sound in game that's like "oh man you just rocked this guy". So I really do wish to see some update that makes them big moments feel as big as they are.

I think the game could also use some more stumbles. you can literally rock a dudes world with a punch and they just kind of look at you like walter white instead of stumbling or something a a bit as a real boxer would lol

final verdict: very fun game, super solid, and the fights feel good in most cases but could use a few improvements/adjustments I am having a blast hitting people with right hooks as Tyson fury. still a 9/10 especially for an early-access game. The team behind this game did a wonderful job and I can't wait for the future of this game so I can right-hook people as Tyson fury

until next review my dudes

This is one of those games you play because you don't want to waste the money you spent and then it grows on you. Let's get into a few of my likes and dislikes. this list my favor dislikes more than likes but lets see

likes:
- Though somewhat cringe i actually like Frey and cuffs little banters throughout the game.
because the world is so big and practically empty it helps you feel like at least somebody is with you lmao.
- the fighting is fun, and a somewhat nice feeling
- the story isnt bad or hard to follow although generic but not bad overall
- when you follow the story you can somewhat sympathize with frey and how she feels about the events of the game.
- i like that the villains don't really have any motive or crazy backstory they just have brain rot and forgot they were heroes which is funny to think about
- i like teh cat

UPDATE: beat the game. forget everything i said bad about the story it all starts so slow and generic but eventually catches you by surprise. gonna add .5 to the score from the amount of "well ♥♥♥♥♥" I uttered while playing

and unfortunately, its time to get to the sad parts lmao

dislikes:
- As mentioned in a bunch of other reviews the map is way too big for what's present in it and being that there isnt a faster way to travel around other than fast traveling to points you have already visited, a bunch of this game is inflated with travel time
- The "dungeons" are way too short and really don't offer much other than new capes.
i can go into a dungeon and be out in 2 minutes because it's piss easy and frey is some sort of demi-god
- Being that square is a Japanese company and frey is a western character her personality is written from the mind of a guy who has never once been to the states so her personality just comes off as stereotypical new york teen lmao
-Not optimized at all, this game had some hype surrounding it until the specs were released and at that point, it was almost doa, don't wanna get into spec talk but my rig is very much capable of 1080p 60fps on high or ultra settings in most games BESIDES THIS GAME.
- This game drags most activities that could be compressed down into menus to launch from anywhere into world locations.
being that they are so short if they just listed all dungeons in a menu and let us launch them from there, they would not only have saved needless map space but also resources for computers, same could be said with a few other things that just inflate the map and run up resources.
- the map is like all the same in every area with mild color swaps

overall 6.5/10
updated overall after completion: 7/10

final verdict: it could've been optimized better, written better, and designed better but the game still definitely has a niche to appeal to. if they send out some updates to optimize the game and rehash the map a bit i think it could sell better and appeal to more people. despite all the negatives I'm still gonna keep playing because I'm somewhat enjoying it. and if you can muster the strength to pick it up and play it I'd recommend it, more so when it goes on sale and they need to recoup some of the losses. until next time dudes

This game is now so far from where it started. I won't make this too long so lets just get to the points

the combat -
IT's fun for a while but over the course of the game its not fun at all especially if you're going for a 100% achievement run man its gonna get hugely daunting.

the customization -
after the character creation screen it goes to ♥♥♥♥ all because clothes have stats and you really are not gonna wear what you think is stylish or cute. Don't get me wrong you can upgrade clothes to have better stats but its just a huge waste of time since upgrading requires materials and materials are balls to get early game. cars are not custom at all lmao and different houses can be bought but they still look very ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stock lmaoo

the story-
the base story is subpar at best but it becomes phenomenal with the added lore of side quest and gigs its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ craaaazy i feel bad for v i won't go into detail for spoilers but the story with the gigs and lore is crazy cause the base story only tells you about V the rest tells you about everything and why everything happened its def a good story

overall a solid 8/10 some things could be improved but its all minor i'd def rec
