Though it's a bit hard to get into due to an intimidating control scheme - with some experience, this game is great for all types of fans of the Franchise. I only ever liked watching videos or playing some of the spinoffs because these games gave me nothing but anxiety while playing them, but having access to a game like this changes that entirely. Almost every bit of it I played felt like a fair and controllable experience, and it felt more like a strategy game than a horror game.
And with that being said, I must say this does apply to a wide variety of people. Whether you want to master the game and unlock everything there is, or just play it every now and then to challenge yourself - it truly stands out in the franchise. Due to it being free, there's really no reason not to play it.

I've played this game for about half a year. And I've come to appreciate a lot about this game. Not only was it one of the first of it's genre, but it's still dominated the whole "Character/role-based shooter" game genre since it's release. The game does an amazing job at making all of it's characters, maps, and weapons feel unique - and it's not only stood the test of time but made an iconic name for itself.
And not only does TF2 not only manage to always feel new and fresh, but community made content is in huge supply. Community servers, community maps, even custom gamemodes make it feel like there's always something different to do.
One of the more interesting parts of Team Fortress 2 is it's cosmetics. War paints, hats, clothes and more are so surprisingly effective at making the game feel personalized - and they certainly aren't lacking in variety. With a rather small amount of money, you can get your hands on certain unlockable weapons a bit sooner than the random drop system would typically give them to you.
And one of the best parts of Team Fortress 2 is the comedic side of the game, and it's community. Using funny names, cosmetics, emotes and other things - it's not difficult to have a good time in TF2. Some servers are made just to embrace these features - and I think these are great places to escape from the more competitive and dare I say, toxic areas of the game.
To anyone who's planning to install the game, I would suggest playing Tutorial matches against bots as training for a while - like I did - until you think you're ready to play against real players. TF2 does a lesser job in the area of teaching new players how to play the game, and if you have a friend who plays the game, you're best off learning from them as well as getting to know the characters and maps for yourself.

Overall, I think Team Fortress 2 is a game I owed it to myself to start playing so much sooner, and it's held up quite well since it's release. Maybe it needs more balance changes, maybe the community is too divided, and maybe the developers lack transparency, however even with all those problems - it doesn't affect that this is still a fun experience with something to offer for pretty much anyone.

((My apologies, but this review is PRETTY long))
This game's quality has been greatly debated. To be fair, not only is it being fun arguable among different people with different tastes in games, but glitches involving collision physics are also mildly common. In my opinion, the positives of this game just barely outweigh the scattered negatives.

This game has 6 different gameplay styles, beginning with Sonic the Hedgehog's story and shortly after, the option to start a different character's story or continue Sonic's is given. The various characters are unlocked at a different rate depending on which character is used. Each gameplay style is either very or slightly different from the next, and this game is infamous for many having very different opinions on each one. In my opinion, they're all fun in their own way.

This game's story is mostly consistent and easy to follow, but has a few flaws, and the way the story is told (The cutscenes and dialogue in them) is dated, and hard to take seriously when it's intended to be.
When most of (or all of) the game is completed, the Chao Garden offers a calm, virtual pet experience. For those looking to complete the game 100%, the Chao Garden feature is required, but outside of that, is completely optional throughout the main story.

One big problem is the computer controls. When using a keyboard (the way I've played through); turning is challenging, and there are several locations where this can mysteriously cause the player to glitch through walls, almost always leading to inescapable death.

Overall, for most people, this game can be fun in at least one way or another. The controls and story have minor or mild flaws. Best of all, for all the flaws that only the PC port has, the price is about 7 dollars less than the Xbox 360 port.

Sonic Mania is a very great game, in my opinion. And i'll try not to spoil it.
So the controls work pretty good for this game, and the new drop-dash mechanic is hard to use, and not ALWAYS useful, But it's still nice either way. The levels balance between Sonic 2's short speedy levels, and Sonic 3 (&Knuckles) Vast, Gimmick-filled labyrinths. The beautiful graphics can definetly keep your eyes open, but the pixelated graphics, while very true to Sonic 2's and Knuckles' Chaotix graphics, do limit the games sprites, and backrounds.
A problem I had with the original games is that they were too difficult to newer generations, like myself. (though I have beat Sonic 2 and 3)But For the first half of this game, I always felt like it was my fault if I made a mistake, and even though I don't really like hard games, atleast It was my fault, but some deaths due to being crushed do eventually get a little unfair, but it's nothing that really stands out. This "Denuvo" DRM had me kind of worried, but didn't harm my computer in any way (but I recommend doing a Virus scan first to be safe anyway)
Overall this is one of the most highly rated Sonic games in years, (possibly ever) and for good reason. It stays true to the original Sega Genesis games, but fixes almost everything they did wrong, and in my opinion,is a very fun and high quality game. I recommend it to long-time fans, and people who've played even a single main series Sonic game.
