For those who want a more in-depth review:

Skyrim is an "old" game developed by Bethesda, creators of the Fallout series and stuff. It is quite popular due to it's ability to mod the game to it's knees, by using third-party tools it made it easier for everyone to create hilarious or interesting mods that completely revamps the gameplay, or just adds some tiny tweaks that barely makes any difference.

The vanilla (base, without DLCs) game is enjoyable, you get the whole main story, you don't really miss out on anything without the dlcs, though there are exceptions.

If you play Vanilla (with all the dlcs or with some), you get some extra areas to explore and some small gameplay features, such as Heartfire's ability to actually build a house with certain features that isn't possible otherwise. Or Dawnguard with it's newly implemented skills for Vampire lords and Werewolf beastmasters. And even the Dragonborn dlc which allows you to actually meet the first dragonborn in Skyrim, which also features a new daedric area if I'm not mistaken.

In other words, the game is really fun if you want to play something different for a change. Though I recommend modding it with things such as custom HUDs, perk overhauls etc. As it will make it feel more interesting than the vanilla (and now boring) console-port.

I strongly recommend buying it on a sale, but with the upcoming game "remake" Skyrim - Special Edition it might be difficult.
