Surprised it took me this long to write something here. I don't have anywhere near the amount of hours i wish i could have in this game. Me and my friend would always come back to WA after breaks from playing and spend a good portion of that week playing this together. He would always be the one building our ships and i would always gather resources. The game play loop scratched an itch I never knew I had. it might have been a simple loop, gather resources, build/upgrade ship, move to next island. But it done it so well that I, like many other struggle to find a new game that fulfils that same void this game left.

I'm sure a lot of the love for the game that I have is rose tinted, I can remember that the gunplay wasn't the best with the only gun you could use feeling sluggish and weak. but even still the game more than made up for those imperfections with how utterly beautiful the world was.

When ever I had collected everything off the island we needed and I was still waiting for my friend to finish our ship, I would just swing around and take in the atmosphere of the islands. a mix of the visuals, music and the sound of wind as I flew around was just so peaceful. I still from time to time boot up the island creator to swing around in and try re-live the old days. While its still aw-inducing, its missing that factor of exploration.

I gave up wishing that Bossa would do something with WA. They took a shot in the dark with this game and given their previous games this was clearly a step up in scale compared. While i dont think anything they can make in the future will be as ambitious as this game, I hope they do take some good lessons from it. Alot of people preach how they hate Bossa for closing down their favourite game as if they done it happily, im more than sure that closing the game down was the last thing they wanted to do.

Not sure if anyone from Bossa still checks these reviews since its mostly just echos of "bring it back" or "someone should buy the rights". But if anyone dose see this who worked on the project. I mean it from the bottom of my heart when i say this, thank you. This game has earned a spot in my heart that will never fade. I do not regret for one second giving my money to this project even if it ended the way it did, my only regret is that i didnt play it more while i still could.
