My history of rhythm games has been never being able to play Hard or Extreme in Guitar Hero and solely playing Ninja Mono in Audiosurf, never getting anywhere near close to the top10 of any song that's reached more than 10 ears in the world.

I lead with that to say this game is good despite not being terribly rhythmically adept. It's a scuffed gem, but in such a way that it shines brighter where it shines. The game yearns to be played, allowing you to adjust the overall difficulty as well as the speed of the notes you're meant to hit, and even has an "offset wizard" and if that isn't enough for you, you can even turn Assist Mode on if you just wanna vibe to the soundtrack and follow the story.

While playing the story you'll find fun, serious, and truly heartwarming dialogue as you navigate the world in between punching cops and rocking out (okay these things often happen at the same time). If you'd rather just hop in to play a track or maybe even brush up on one before heading to a higher difficulty (okay it doesn't exactly work that way but you practice stuff make stuff go better) the game also has an Arcade feature which allows you to play any tracks from the game that you've unlocked.

The Arcade feature also allows you to change the character you're playing as (in the Arcade, does not carry over the Story Mode), as well as the stage you'll be playing on.

I want to keep glamming up the game but I did say this gem was scuffed and here's my little scuffy section.

In the Arcade, the Customization UI when choosing your stage is a bit hard to read. Very light gray font over white is no bueno especially while being a bit small.

I also had a couple of moments in the Story Mode where I got a bit aggravated specifically in Episode 5 when doing the elevator battle. Having to watch the cutscene that lead up to the fight each attempt was a bit annoying and I wish I had a way to skip to just immediately before the battle started.

And lastly something that might be wrong but it's kind of hard to Google things about this game to fact check myself. So, when you're in the rhythm game parts of the game, your health is at the top of the screen. Any time you miss a note, you'll take some damage. If you don't let it get too bad, you can heal that damage by hitting notes correctly. But, if you get to Heartbroken, it seemed to me like you were just on death's door.

I loved playing this game, and it very much may be because I just a couple months ago decided I wanted to learn how to play the bass so I may very well be the game's target audience. Either way, now that I've beaten the game, I'm going to grab the OST and throw it into my daily shuffle.

A few last things I wanna bring up. Firstly, please guys make some more merch for the game. Secondly, the website for the game has guitar tabs for some of the songs and this is really cool. Thirdly, always remember it's either unbeatable or UNBEATABLE.

When you're going to the worlds, you can move Spyro to the bottom left, and it looks like he's making grabby hands for the gems.

I've never been a big fan of bullet hell games and so I've never played very many. I don't mind the bullet hell sections of this game, in fact they were the most fun parts I had with it. But when I have to go to the ♥♥♥♥♥ boi mode in order for the game's tutorial to abide by the same rules it taught me for the very first bit of gameplay in the game, it's kind of a problem. I'd say pick it up if it's on sale, and if you don't enjoy the first boss, just refund it since apparently that's what the whole game is.

The OG for playing all of the DoW races game, even if Soulstorm added two more races and flying units, this is still my favorite of the bunch. Also I want more badges

When Payday 2 was in beta, you very easily could have called me a fanboy. When we had the first Gage weapon packs, you still could have called me a fanboy. Hell, I'd say even up to the Diamond Heist you still probably could have gotten away with calling me a fanboy. But it was a bit after that time that I just got fed up with all of the DLC Overkill was churning out and finally got burnt out on the game. But hey, the game was still fun to boot up from time to time.

Now, it's been a while since I've played the game, but considering all of the DLC's weren't enough and Overkill has now decided to add CS:GO's key system or whatever it's called, I'm going to have to stop thinking about trying to do some heistan', guys. At this point, Overkill has finally gone overboard with their business model, not even accounting for their promise to never resort to microtransactions when the game was in development.

So yeah, if you're looking for a fun game where you can get a majority of the content with just the up front cost... This isn't that game anymore.

Early Access Review
I don't know if I'd pay 22 dollars for the game in its current state, but considering it's on sale at the time of this review you should definitely pick it up. Really immersivve, plenty of progression without it ever feeling like a grind (ironic since the game is about a meatgrinder), and YOU CAN CALL CHLORINE GAS DOWN ON THE ENEMY TEAM AT LEVEL 5

Overrated, mods are ♥♥♥♥, and combat never changes unless you decide to play with different styles.
