Space Funeral mogs this crap

OFF definitely deserves a spot on the indie RPG Mount Rushmore along the likes of Lisa, Hylics, Undertale, and most recently, Look Outside. OFF being the George Washington of the bunch, predates all of its peers yet still holds up surprisingly well, mostly due to this incredibly well done remake.

The combat in this version feels snappy, fluid, and fun despite being fairly simple. The UI is sleek and snazzy, and collecting pillarbox art for each zone is a neat touch. This remake also features several new bosses, which to me are the highlight of this game. The new bosses have great designs and cool visual effects on their attacks, while bringing new mechanics to the table that actually demand a semblance of strategy, which is rare in this game.

Now we get to the most contentious aspect of the remake, the new soundtrack. I personally think the new soundtrack is superb for the most part. I understand why some might not like it, as many of the tracks are tonally distinct from the original. However, I feel the new music fits just as well, if not better in some cases. And I am sorry, but the new battle theme is better than the OG. Most of the new tracks took the original songs and added some seasoning to them. There are however, a few songs I prefer in the original, and I do think there are a few bad songs in the remake, most notably the sh!tty breakcore songs. Yeah, those sucked. Let's leave breakcore in the past. Let's be honest, breakcore sucks, it was never good and is not real music. The highlight of the soundtrack is definitely Toby Fox's contributions. They are all phenomenal and, in my opinion, direct upgrades of the original songs.

Overall, this is a really fun ride. Not too short and not too long, the story is compelling with a few twists and turns. While the overworld lacks in detail and art direction, the great hand-drawn character and enemy designs make up for it.

The weakest part of the game for me, aside from the aforementioned breakcore songs, would be the puzzles. There are a couple of fun puzzles but most of them involve tediously writing down and remembering numbers or navigating confusing mazes. Standard fare for these types of games, but still.

I would definitely recommend this game if you are in the mood for a surreal RPG maker game with some sick tunes and a cool little story. And with everything being said, I would still recommend playing this new version over the original 100%.

there are a couple small things I prefer in hades 1 but in general this game is much better in almost every single way. fantastic sequel. potentially goty

honestly might be GOTY. price is insanely cheap for what you are getting. fantastic game with tons of content, I see this having LOTS of replay value. I am already thinking of starting another run to see all the different outcomes and things I missed. really can't recommend this enough

quickest refund of my life. boring AI slop UE5 game where all you do is shoot at amazon drones and collect garbage. also the players cry in the voice chat when you kill them like you did something wrong, this is a pvp game dafuq did they expect? i was on some wild chronic to even think to buy this game in the first place
