Ok so, after just finishing this game. I can wholeheartedly say I am officialy a FAN! This was an unusual and refreshing take on the FPS Resident Evil/Bioshock take. Not what I expected, which in this case is a GOOD THING! The story was intriguing and made me go "hmm... tell me more..." more than a few times. I didn't think I'd like the spanish mythology take but I am impressed and loved it! The combat, while at times a little clunky, never left me feeling cheated, bored, unimpressed or unsatified.

The blood mechanic I was never impressed by... UNTIL I PLAYED THIS GAME! I enjoyed the tension of balancing damange output and health management SO MUCH. They RREAALLYY did it well. And it was refreshing and felt original. The graphics and scenery are beautiful, the art style is top noch, and I loved the bespoke look and feel of the weapons.

The only gripes I have: The puzzles are abit obscure at times, but not unsolvable. The enemies felt a little bullet spongy until I got my upgrades. Then I went ROMPING, and there were a few annoying glitches which I am sure will be sorted out in no time.

Overall....I highly recommend this game and I look forward to any DLC's and Sequals.
BRAVO, Vermila Studios! BRAVO!!!🎉🎉🎉🎊🎊🧜‍♂️🧜‍♀️

Where to start... first off THIS GAME IS WORTH YOUR TIME!! It is not your standard tank control, 90s early 2000s nod resident evil/silent hill clone. Though the latter was definitely an inspiration. The controls take some getting used to but that is really not an issue. Its got what most horrors don't have. MOOD AND ATMOSPHERE. Slow building dread with every step.

I love the "combat" system. Its basically fighting without combat. Each character has stats and unique "items or attributes" to aid you. Yes, there are QTE's but in this game they fit and add to the terror, fright and tension in each encounter. Its a unique take on combat and works well.

Crits? Well. if you are looking for Silent Hill or Resident evil you'll be disappointed. But, don't let that fool you, its got a different approach that WORKS if you are up for something different. Puzzles can be abit obscure but that's what strategy guides are for. Or just wrack your brain the way God intended. Story is also kind of vague, but if you pay attention you'll find it rather interesting. Certain "combat" events can feel unfair, clunky and awkward. but since they added the option to avoid permadeath you can master it well enough.

All in all, this is SEVERELY UNDERRATED and I hope to see more like it in the future. Maybe minus the QTE's though.

As a veteran of Silent Hill, I can wholeheartedly HARD RECOMMEND THIS GAME. Its graphics and gameplay are amazing, and rather well optimised. I have a stalwart Geforce 1050TI and it runs like melted butter, not even cooking my GPU. OK I can't play it on excessively high settings sure, but it runs perfectly. Combat is improved, alot more slick and responsive but more threatening and angsty, atmosphere is tense and creepy, sound design is good, though I admit I prefer the originals in this regard. Lots of variations from the original which makes this title stand apart as its own instalment. But it can stand proud alongside its predecessors.

CONS: Honestly, no bias, not many. DID NOT LIKE THE WOKE-ificaton of Angela though. Hope this will be modded out. She sounds more like an effeminate guy or butch chick than the flimsy little high strung wallflower lady from the original. There is some handholding with indicators, and "Press E to...."'s here as well that the previous titles would sneer at but it's not bad at all.

Well worth the price and Bloober team have a great accomplishment here. WELL DONE. Looking forward to getting deeper into this game.

I really don't see why people are whining about "reused assets", "very few new enemies" and "recycled blah blah. This was a fun new twist. So far I think its been interesting. Only gripe I have is I don't like the glider traversing and sprawling stages that are hard to navigate. Other than that, I am enjoying it. More of what I love with some new spice. LOVING IT!!!

While I admit I am biased because the first game hit me right in the sweet spot when I was ailing for an action-adventure shooter, this sequel is well WORTH the praise and your time. It's not without its faults, this game is still WHOLLY engaging, enjoyable, and very deep. If you're a souls-like fan (I wasn't until I played the first Remnant -I love guns) this will be right up your alley.

Only complaints I have is the cheap trick the first game DIDN'T have with enemies constantly spawning behind you, even though you checked. It's frustrating when you are focused one way and then get swamped from behind out of nowhere. (If that's just how souls-likes are, oh well) Also the damned random horde attacks are irritating at times but does make the game tense and lively with enemies.

Aside from those complaints, the game is TWIN BARRELS of FUN. Alot more variety, bloody obscure mystery weapons, mods, and items, the devs are constantly updating, improving and tweaking things and the story is fun. More of the same as the first game but that same is VERY IMPROVED with additional spice added!

Trust me, you'll like this game.

Well well.....where to start.

Features:
Horror = Just the right amount. Not very gory or weird
Terror = Absolutely. You will get plenty of frights and thrills without cheap jump scares.
Story = Intriguing. Comparable to the movies stories but nothing spectacular.
Graphics = Old school 2012ish and THAT IS PERFECT
Atmosphere = Claustrophobic, dark and creepy.....Just the way you like it.

This game is or should be THE STANDARD in modern FIRST PERSON STEALTH/SNEAKING. I was and still am a HUGE FAN of the alien franchise and this title is a PROUD AND WORTHY addition. Tense, anxiety inducing, white knuckle panic and bowel trying combat. This is how to do a scifi Terror (Not horror. The difference is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT). Graphics are not modern day "Golden HD Pixels" but THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT! Everything feels gritty, grimy and retro 80s tech. And you will love it.

The stealth mechanic is EXTREMELY good and fair and still forgiving. You don't get busted the moment you are glanced. But beware your salty soul when you get spotted.

Alien Isolation is not without it's faults. The combat is harsh (though I believe that adds to the charm) Sticky, panicky and often times not worth it. The ai is not that great and you can take on 3 guys armed with pistols or shotguns and still come out on top, though you will take some damage in the process. Sometimes it can seem abit unfair when you are facing an area and you weren't given the right materials you need to craft. But there are still workarounds which will require extra effort. And admittedly you will feel a good sense of accomplishment for it.

This game is low on the horror though not by much. It is best at it's story telling and atmosphere which is what it builds up for- TERROR! Terror is what this game does best. Claustrophobic vents, hallways and corridors and alot of dark, tight spaces where you will be forced to fight or sneak, often time low on torch batteries. But you still got flares. Choose wisely.
I personally loved how long this game was. Not so much as to overstay it's welcome but definitely long enough to get stuck into and enjoy.

A well crafted, effort put in, darling piece of old school horror. A charming blend of Silent Hill 3 (My favourite of the Silent Hill series) and the older resident evils.
Ran very smoothly, stable and tank controlled like it's inspirations. Graphics are modest but very beautiful and adds to the charm. The whole game looks authentic and detailed (Unreal Engine FTW!), well thought out and well designed. My compliments on this.

Puzzles were obscure as heck but that is how it is in this style and genre. It's what you are here for. Combat is sticky, panicky and totally avoidable when things are abit rough, though you will pay dearly for your mistakes. Love it or hate it, you need a specific kind of resource to be able to save.
The atmosphere is great and much respect to the music and sound design. And my heart leapt and adrenaline surged at a particular jump scare that was a salute to the one in Silent Hill. My heartfelt complements. More effort put in to that than most AAA titles.

And a really REALLY nice touch is the hint of sexiness (LOVE fabric graphics) that you won't ever see in AAA titles. Makes me really happy though there is not enough of it.

Should you get stuck (and you will) a quick browse and you will be on your way in no time.

I am VERY happy I bought this. As a seasoned horror gamer this didn't really scare me BUT It kind of made me uncomfortable playing this alone at night. Dim the lights, crank the volume, sit back with your favourite drink and ENJOY a chilling take for a dark night.

As a long time horror fan and being an avid fan of all the originals as well as a Silent Hill fan, I am SO HAPPY this finally came to the PC. And I am thankful my pre-order was not met with disappointment.

This PC port worked really well. I had only minor issues, specifically that I couldn't get my mouse working with it which would have been nice but WHO CARES! You're SUPPOSED to play it with a controller. And that is the only con so far.

The port is stable, graphics are SUPERB, gameplay is sticky, hectic and panicky, THE WAY A HORROR GAME SHOULD BE and ,when mastered, is satisfying. I have had ZERO (see what I did there lol XD) issues with this game and I am glad I bought the delux version. I was kind of hoping for a bit more sexiness with "sexual content" and "nudity" tags but no such luck, The outfits get clingy and they have very subtle and welcomed breast bounce. It's also nicely woven into the game without being kitch or overstaying it's welcome.

If you are new to this game i recommend headphones,, your favourite beverage and the lights low because this game has a very atmospheric, slow burn and insidious flavor or J-Horror. And that is WHAT WE LIKE.

I give this game a hearty thumbs up and recommend

This is a really fun and terrifying little game series. Well where to start.

This game is fun and worth your time if you love story and action as well as tension and suspense along with a healthy shot of jump scares in very low amounts. NICE! The combat is sticky, panicky and at times just not worth it.... LIKE A SURVIVAL HORROR IS SUPPOSED TO BE DAMNIT!!!! It is unique in it's storytelling and style and differs greatly from its spiritual predecessor Fatal Frame. While personally I would have liked it to be a little more FF I like how t his game is standing apart on it's own
- Has great atmosphere and mood.
- Great concepts and visuals
- Combat is challenging and can be infuriating enough to rage quite but not enough to write it off. (TOUGH IT
OUT YOU BUNCH OF SNOWFLAKES!!!)
- The story is interesting and draws you in and although I prefer the Japanese flavour of spirit mythology I liked what
this game did with Indonesian folklore.
- The tone shifts from stage to stage can be jarring but this actually adds to the suspension of disbelief and sheer terror.
- Puzzles are actually challenging and you will find yourself reaching for a walkthrough now and then. (I regret NOTHING!)

Now, this game is not perfect and I do have gripes. I agree that it could have done with a little more development time to perfect the AI and combat. I had no problem with stability though. The gritty and unpolished graphics do add to the atmosphere but can and should be improved. Handling and controls of Linda NEED WORK PEOPLE! She handles like a drunk squirrel, too fast and can barely hold her own in a fight....which is to be expected from a scared untrained school girl with an I...RIS Phone but still. The story telling is abit disjointed sometimes but can easily be picked up on with the addition of the "Story so far" and nu visiting the Ghostpedia. So just go along with it.

Don't let this games few blemishes put you off. If you enjoy dark , gritty, unnerving, disturbing and at times nausea inducing visuals along with some kick ass nerve fraying combat I RECOMMEND DREAD OUT 2.
