Despite talks of forming a Highlander Open team, I think it would be best for us to do some 4v4 lobbies and/or scrims first. This is for two reasons.

Firstly, 6v6 is where all the sweaty tryhards are at and has proven to be too hardcore for us as a new team right now. As for 9v9, we lack players and I lack the organizational skills required for it.

And secondly, compared to other gamemodes, 4v4 has a fairly straightforward meta. Scout, Soldier, Demoman, Medic with light offclassing and just DM, DM, and DM. It should be very easy to organize and get into as a team.

If the lobbies/scrims go well then signups for UGC 4v4 end September 28th. I'd say we could probably aim for Steel/Div 5.

I understand that 4v4 will leave out a lot of our members, but I think it'll be better to test the waters as a team before we go dragging 9 people together without having much of an idea what we're doing into a strategy heavy gamemode.

There could be quite a few ways we could organize a 4v4 team with the members we have, but to me the most obvious one would be:

Scout: Marsu
Soldier: Bennaccio
Demoman: Maas
Medic: Neo
Subs: Everyone else

As far as I know the main 4v4 classes are mostly out of the comfort zones of all you other folks, but this is all just off the top of my head. So if there's any class you think you would fit better into, or fit into at all even as a sub, your feedback would be appreciated!

Remember, offclassing is a thing in 4v4. For instance, when defending, the scout would be more useful as an engineer.
