(in each criteria list, the items are in a high-low order of importance)

Inclusion criteria :
- overall appearance, context, cast, setting, quantity
- canonical dating (typically low; in 'plausibly deniable' range; unusually high)
- made by Japan-born developer
- parent characters are mentioned or play an important role

Exclusion criteria :
- PVP-only / multiplayer
- mismatching chibi style / key art
- lacking story
- visual novel
- princess care sims

False-positive criteria :
- overall appearance
- chibi-style
- long limbs
- long torso
- flat chest (pettanko)

High importance criteria:
- frequent presence, medium-high quantity

Low importance criteria :
- infrequent presence, low quantity
- low quality game
- low story impact

Note : Shotas are separated into types, adventurous and innocent, depending on the personality of the character. Adventurous is more Shounen-like, Innocent is more cutesy.
