💡WASD was originally substituted for ESDF for the sole reason of keyboard ghosting[en.wikipedia.org] in early FPS titles. This was corrected around 2000 with n-key rollover by Katsuji Ideura, but nobody has adopted the transition in any game.

Why ESDF❓

🔹Natural typing hand placement.
🔹Faster blind hand placement because of the notch on the F.
🔹The extra finger adds a new primary key with A.
🔹Opens and adds Q, Z, T, V, 5 to be bound.

This is kind of crazy but I've been doing EWDF which lets me tilt my hand at a more natural angle, use Tab for sprint, and makes it even easier to select those primary weapons. For that and other actions I use 1-5, then TGB and ZXCV, maaybe 6. F*ck that 7 through 0 nonsense, though.
