ABOUT Distributable Marketeering Tool

A third-party Steam client focused around chatting and trading.

Description:

Currently in mostly private testing, the Distributable Marketeering Tool (DMT) is a Steam client written for those on-the-go and enjoy trading.

It is written in Java and is a frontend to the quality work done in the SteamKit-Java (a port of work done in the SteamRE project) and ScrapBank.tf projects. Heavy modifications have been made by me to the latter project to support additional features, the result being SteamTrade-Java.

Features
Not Steam:
Run multiple copies and still have an ordinary copy of Steam running as usual! Supports SteamGuard.

Chatting:
Talk with other players as you normally would! Log all the things, including status and name changes.

Trading:
Send any item! Accept any other item that Steam supports in return! The trading code has been heavily modified from the original and accepts private backpacks, sending and receiving non-TF2 items, and no need for a WebAPI key! (As of now, certain features of trading may currently not be displayed in the client, such as sending / receiving the right amount of Spiral Knights' Crowns or Energy, but will be available for use otherwise.)

Simplicity and familiarity:
The user window is compact; invites and default users are combined. The trading window looks somewhat as the one in Steam does, but the items in your inventory, your offer and the other person's offer are grouped as uniquely as possible. No more having to count out that your trading partner put up exactly 140 Refined for your Earbuds! Add items as quickly as you can click your mouse!

Stability?
Still in testing, but some bit of care (read: absolutely none) was taken to ensure you can keep it running without any significant impact on gaming. It works, though! That, and doing some more stuff won't get it to crash. On the other hand, SteamKit-Java is aging and nobody's maintaining the port...

Multiplatform:
As it's written in Java, in theory it could be run under any system that can run the JRE. Maybe even an Android port? One can dream, I suppose. The Ice client exists, which is pretty neat.

???:
The software is in internal testing, and could possibly acquire more relevant features in the future.
