DiamondHands and HODL

The term "Diamond Hands" is a slang used by traders on Reddit's r/WallStreetBets community to refer to someone who has a high-risk tolerance for high volatility stocks or assets they own.


Hodl is a slang term used in the cryptocurrency community to refer to holding a cryptocurrency rather than selling it. It originated in a 2013 post on the Bitcoin Forum message board by an apparently inebriated user who posted with a typo in the subject, "I AM HODLING." The term is often humorously suggested to be a backronym to "hold on for dear life."
