Welcome to the Cheneymania.tf Steam Group! Cheneymania aims to return TF2 to its casual roots seen in the days of old, BEFORE the dark times known as the "Meet Your Match" update. That means RANDOM CRITS, NO CLASS LIMITS, SPRAY IMAGES, ALL TALK, and WEAPON REVERTS! Friendly fire is also sometimes an option.

Our "Hunting Club" also features a map voting system to help keep things a bit more varied. Long-forgotten favorites from the past make a return as well. Remember tc_hydro? We do. Remember Arena Mode? Valve sure as ♥♥♥♥ doesn't, but we certainly do. Even some old community favorites make a return!

Other miscellaneous features slated to appear include "roll the dice", the Unreal/Quake announcer pack, and more that you'll just have to discover for yourself.

Please note that Cheneymania only exists in the sphere of this Steam Group, the Group Chat, and the server(s) listed below. That is to say an official discord, sub-reddit, or anything of that nature will never exist, as it leads to many problems that I'm sure you're already painfully aware of.

Some Other Things to Note:

1. This is a Team Fortress 2 server, not Craigslist. Don't advertise your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ here.

2. Any attempt to maliciously disrupt server activity will be met with severe punishment including, but not limited to, gagging, muting, banning, berating, and much more depending on how egregious it is.

3. Player communications, while not strictly moderated, should still be kept legal. Use common sense. I don't care if you hurl every single slur in the book at each other, just don't post illegal ♥♥♥♥, and don't be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ creep. Remember, the mute button is your friend. And please, leave all your drama at the door.

4. Pornographic content of any form, including drawn content is 100 percent forbidden. We're here to play video games. Go jerk your gherkin somewhere else and ♥♥♥♥ off.

5. Sometimes we like to branch out and play other games (see Associated Games column) if enough players are interested. There are no consistent servers up for these titles, as it normally involves one of us just hosting a listen server for the session and calling it a day.

6. I am the one who pays the bills for this server. I do not plan on taking any form of donation. All of this is to say that while I am happy to listen to and consider your feedback, at the end of the day, my word is final.

Happy 4/20, Cheneynites! Before I get into the nitty-gritty details, I wanted to take a moment to thank all of my players for their continued support of this server, This place wouldn't exist without you (rather, it would, but I'd be wasting money on upkeep). Thanks for making this a fun place to play. With all that out of the way, here's all of the major changes included with today's update.

New Maps!

Added Bridge of Death (Arena)
Added Chess (Arena/Medieval)
Added Cloak (Arena)
Added Corridor (Arena)

Added Lumberyard (Control the Keep)
Added Ravine (Control the Keep)
Added Well (Control the Keep)

New Gamemodes!

Control the Keep - In this modified version of King of the Hill, instead of holding the point for a total of 3 minutes, teams must now hold it for 45 consecutive seconds. If the enemy team manages to capture your point, the timer will be reset, and theirs will begin to count down instead.
Domination - Is fighting over one singular point too boring for you? Now you can fight over all of them! The goal of this gamemode is to capture all of the points on the field. As you capture more points, your timer will count down quicker, and you will inch ever closer to victory. Manage to capture all of the points at once and victory is automatically yours. Trench whistles and behemoth units not included.

Cheneymania has gone live!

That's right, ladies and gents. The final touches have been added and the server is ready for play! Here's a quick rundown on how things work:

The server is up all day now, with a scheduled daily reboot at 4AM Eastern*
Chat adverts are now up and running. Special seasonal ones are also included.
Quake/Unreal sounds have been added.
Roll the dice is not present for now, as it is being saved for later
Super Spray Manager is installed, which will let you see who sprayed what. I can also purge them at will if they violate the rules. You have been warned.
Friendly fire is disabled by default. It can only be turned on with an admin present, as they are the only ones who can call the vote.
If you want me to add a map to the rotation that isn't already there, add it to the pinned discussions thread.
