You wake up to the rocking of the ship as it comes into port in Quebec, Canada. You have reached your destination. The year is 1813, when Canada is in the midst of the War of 1812. As you leave the ship, you see a rather unremarkable town in a valley between two tall mountains, dominated by a large barracks. You see a regiment marching on the parade grounds, and you recognize it to be the 93rd Regiment of Foot, or the Sutherland Highlanders, the regiment stationed in this town. You begin walking towards the second-largest building, the Town Center. As you enter you see a clerk sitting at a desk, busy at work, with a plaque that reads, "Information Bureau". You walk up to him. He looks up, and smiles. "Welcome to Quebec", he says as he puts down his pen. "Home to the finest mountains you'll find in Canada", he says, smiling. You smile back. "Where can I get a room", you ask. "Well," he says, "if you'll head over to the Housing Agency Office, you can buy or rent a home in one of our many apartment complexes. If you wish to register to our fine town, I can help you. If you're already registered as a citizen of Quebec, I'd recommend making a bank account with the Bank, over to the left. If you'd like, you can apply to join our fine militia, the Sutherland Highlanders, in the Barracks. That about sums up you options", he says, coming to an end. You begin to ponder your options.
