Well, we were only set to do Turn 1 on Saturday, and we actually did Turns 1-4, and got Twintania down to Phase 3 in Turn 5! (Phase 4 if you count Ran surviving a bit longer after a party wipe by employing the Joestar Family Secret Technique.)

The consensus seems to be that our team WILL be capable of beating Turn 5 - it just means practice and potentially a bit of gear polishing!

***So with that in mind, please post in this comment thread with your availability for another crack at Turn 5! Saturday would likely be the best day for all involved if last week is anything to go by.***

Though as Ran says, we'll be fighting the SNAKES from the front most likely.

Most of us were missing a fair bit during Twintania, because our accuracy isn't up to snuff. You need 472 Accuracy to guarantee hits to Twintania, and 483 Accuracy to guarantee hits to her stupid snake adds. The main issue here is for DPS - a huge part of Phase 3 is about having snakes wiped out as fast as humanly possible, and if we're missing, we're not landing damage. It's also important for Twintania, too. I know there's functionally zero chance we'll all hit those Accuracy thresholds by Saturday (I know I won't, I'm only 440 on BLM) but it's worth knowing that we should try to get more if possible - those of us who aren't Healers, anyway. (I'm also guessing pure VIT is far more important for Tanks, it didn't seem like any of the tanks were losing enmity.) Kim, could you potentially make us some accuracy food?

2: After talking over how our Turn 5 attempt went with a few people and watching MTQcapture's Turn 5 video, I've come to the conclusion that we may well be better off doing Turn 5 with ONE tank. This would allow for approximately a 25% increase in DPS due to having an extra DPS slot. However, it would also present the following problems:

A: A single tank would have to juggle Twintania AND her adds in Phase 1 (to my recollection, this is the only time in the whole fight that one is expected to juggle Twintania AND adds at the same time, in any other situation adds should be dead before she becomes targetable again.)

B: We would need to find a reliable way of grabbing the second group of adds during Phase 3 (they spawn at the other end of the arena during the divebombs)

C: We would have no offtank to stand in the Neurolink directly below Twintania in Phase 5 and eat the damage balls.

Problem A can be solved, IMO, with good use of tank cooldowns and 5 focused DPS. Problem C isn't that huge a deal as long as one of the melee DPS is prepared to be a gimped offtank during Phase 5 - the damage they're eating shouldn't be a big deal anyway as the Neurolink negates almost all of it IIRC.

Problem B is the biggest one. Any ideas? Maybe if we get good enough at dodging divebombs, we'll be able to reliably have NOBODY at the other end, so that whoever the adds target, they all come over to us anyway. Or maybe we could move pits during Phase 3. Who knows.

One final note regarding the adds in Phase 3 - it's my understanding that we were doing it wrong. While the little snakes explode upon death and leave a lingering, stackable debuff that lowers defense, and while it's very important to get the bigger snake caught in that, from what I undersatnd, the debuff does NOT stack in a linear fashion - I.E. the jump in defense loss from 0 to 1 stacks is far greater than that from 1 to 2. Therefore, it's more efficient to get one stack on the snake, then time the second snake's kill so that it explodes a few seconds before that 1 stack is about to wear off. Even if the linear stacking issue isn't the case, this still holds valid for giving us as much effective DPS time on the big snake as possible.

Since it's REALLY important to have ALL those snakes DEAD before the second lot spawn (functionally giving us only about a minute) and, as we demonstrated, dealing with the agro from both lots at once is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard, we're just going to have to get good at doing that manually, without use of the BLM limit break. After that, I propose that we deal with the SECOND wave of Phase 3 adds in the same way we were previously trying to deal with both waves at once - by grouping and using the BLM limit break. This is because we have even less time to kill that second wave before Phase 4 than we did to kill the first wave before the second wave's spawn.
