Git gud with teams

Some people struggle to play in a team. Some people struggle with how, when and why to follow calls, or some of the "basic rules" when playing with a team. Others have trouble synergizing with their teammates, making the sum greater than the parts, and taking advantage of the opponent's failure to teamplay in team-based games.

If you want to get better at either of the above, or even just play with a heavy orientation towards teamwork and its intricacies, together with like-minded individuals, you probably want in on this.

The purpose of this group is to organize what will hopefully be daily sessions of play, which will be focused on learning - together. While I will be taking the reigns and mostly be calling, the atmosphere of these sessions will be one of learning and exploring. It's all about gitting gud while having fun.

All that is expected of people participating is that they partake with those goals in mind - learning and exploring. The group is open, and the sessions will be open. If you want to jump in for 20 minutes to do some teamplay, you're welcome. If you want to nerd it up, the sessions will probably last hours. And if you don't feel like participating, you're utterly welcome to do whatever you fancy too. Joining the group will just let you see when the sessions are in progress.

We will be playing several games, as the focus is very specifically on teamwork and on elevating your play and ability to play in a team. We will be playing TF2, CS, Planetside, and possibly Elite: Dangerous, as they're all games where teamwork can put you far and away above all competition. The idea is that by working with all of these games, we can avoid getting hung up on the quirks of any one of them, and focus on improving our teamwork.

Finally, I've had some people question my credentials for calling or leading in games. While I will readily agree that my aim is garbage, my reactions are ♥♥♥♥, I'm not particularly smart and I multitask poorly, there is one thing that I will pat myself on the back for: I do my homework. When I start playing a game, I learn everything about the game. Moreover, I have a university degree in communication, human resource-management and leadership. This means I also know things about people and teamwork outside of games. Finally, I have a good couple of decades of gaming experience. This is what I bring to the table as a caller, and to my knowledge, nobody I know has better qualifications than those, and it's on this basis that I offer to share some of my knowledge - while we dominate noobs, of course.
